    Hello everyone!

My baby boy arrived on the 6th May,
His name is River and so far all he does is eat sleep and poop

Feeling good albeit a bit spun out and sleep deprived

Looking forward to sharing my bub with you all,

Looks like our group is pretty quiet!
Well River has been pretty good. He likes to feed alot and hates his nappy being changed (I reassure him that in a few years he will very proud to show his "bits" off, LOL). He screams when he has a bath too, but other than that is quite relaxed.

I had the baby blues earlier this week, really from about day 3, and had my milk come in big time. I looked like some trumped up porn star! They have settled down now and he is feeding really well. Most days I get around without a bra to prevent blockages. I got mastitis with Caden from wearing a bra and being too restricted, so am just "hanging out there" this time which is far more comfortable.

It is different this time round. We only plan on 2 kids so I am in a bit of a mourning stage, knowing this is it for me. I actually feel like I could have another child, but DH is adament he only wants 2, and I am quite career focussed and think once this newborn phase is passed I will be happy with just the two. I feel sad sometimes when I look at River's beautiful little face knowing how quick they grow. I just want to absorb and enjoy every single moment. With Caden I just wanted the first six months to be over and done with. How different the feelings are now.

Anyway, hope you are all enjoying your bubs and they are letting you get a decent amount of sleep (we are co-sleeping this time which seems far easier, although DH is segregated to the spare bed. At least he is getting enough sleep though )

    chat soon,

Our group is pretty quiet isn't it! I have a goal 2 weeks and I want these boys discharged from hospital it's becoming such a depressing place to be every single day.
I just need to get the boys feeding from me not the dumb tube but they only feed from me for a min or 2 then don't have the energy, quite common in prems but really depressing too.
Lleyton put on 60gs and Jackson 70gs since there last weigh in which I'm not sure when that was.
I just want to take my bubbas home!

Hey MrsS - you poor thing! It is great that they are feeding from you though, all good signs albeit slow. My first lil guy was so tired he hardly fed as well, but gradually he woke up (with a 2 day stint under lights) and that meant he was stronger to feed. Sounds like you are doing a great job.

Other than that, all good here! DS#1 getting used to sharing me with River but he is in tears on my lap at the minute so better go

Still quiet in here, where are you girls?
Going for newborn photo shoot tomorrow. Almost a 2 hour drive which was a bit silly of me but booked it in late notice so will have to grin and bear it

    Hi everyone!

    Hi there ladies,
Has taken me a while to post on this thread.
My baby boy Henry was born May 1st - my first baby!
Everything is going really well - he is breast feeding really well & at his 2 week checkup is back to his birth weight (actually put on 150g in the last 5 days!). He is quite content and sleeping 2-3hrs between feeds.

    Hope everyone is going well.

Welcome JMO and congratulations on little Henry!
Oh a newborn photo shoot that shounds amazing hope you get some great shots Dragonbub!

AFM - Still now news on how soon the twins will be discharged, my milk supply seems to be dropping off so i need to look quick smart into how to keep it up (im losing 100ml per pump which is every 3 hours ) The boys did really well feeding yesterday, our first really successful day, in fact whilst i was there (8.30-5) Lleyton only had 20ml fed to him through his tube! Jackson had 1 whole feed through it but also 2 successful breastfeeds and a tube top up. I cant wait to get them home!

Welcome JMO and congrats on little Henry

MrsS - I BET you can't wait to get them home. Are you in hospital too or going in for feeds? Sounds like they are picking up though which is awesome, hopefully just in time for the bfing to really kick in and not expressing so much.

All good here, the newbie photo shoot was amazing! They are just like Anne Geddes pics, he looks just so beautiful. I will post a pic as soon as I get them. River has been quite settled, but doesn't really like the car at the minute. Not sure if it's the position, or just generally feeling unsettled. He was quite unsettled when we got home today after a 10 minute drive, but had a pooey nappy and was over-tired so maybe that was the problem. I tend to push my babies too far in the early weeks I think, I expect so much of them! I will just have to stay local for a bit and take it easier

Hope everyone else is doing well (those May mummies still to come),

Glad they went well hunni has he got a toy hanging or anything in the car? DD2 used to hate the car until I did that and it gave her something to stimulate her.

I'm hoping Jackson feeds better today than he did yesterday, first feed was great then 4 hours later I couldn't wake him so he had to be tube fed.
Hoping I get 2 feeds in today before I have to go home

Hey does that mean you are going home today? Or yesterday for that matter? Woop woop!! Hopefully little Jackson will pick up once he gets the taste.

I will try the toy. I have just swapped the car seats over, using the one from when Caden was little. Hopefully it is more comfortable than the capsule. I tried for about half an hour today just to get him to sit in it but he just cried. But then again he is being a koala and just wants to be cuddled so maybe it will pass. It is just annoying being stuck at home, and I will need to head out at 4 to get my 3 year old from day care. Ho hum!

Hopefully you are back home and settling in now

Oh yay! Small steps hun but heading in the right direction. How you holding up? Have you got lots of support around? Make sure you look after yourself as well, it is tough enough with just one bub and no complications, let alone two very tiny ones. *hugs* to you babe, sounds like you are doing a great job,

Tomorrow the boys get to come home! Instead of the usual 24 hour suck feeds before discharge we have to do 48 because Jackson is under the 2.3kg discharge weight so a small compromise which gets us home quicker so one more night in here and then off home!
    I can't wait

How is river going in the car now?

YAY for you! Well done on your boys for getting out so soon. You must be so relieved to have them finally at home where they belong.

River is ok most days, but I still wont risk a long trip. I think he is ok when he is asleep, but doesn't like it when he is awake, or trying to get to sleep. Caden was like that too but much later, from about 6 weeks I think. Oh well.

    Gotta go, bbl
