Hello All,
Farmgirl - I got Rivers hands and feet cast just last week . I had them done with Caden at 5 weeks too so it will be nice to compare them both and have them on my wall on display.

Kelly - you poor thing! Do you have other family support who can help out? I hear Red Cross have volunteers that come and give you a hand and a break.

MrsS - glad to hear the boys are gaining weight

Mellybelly - yeah River does that but it sounds different to his other cries. Probably having bad dreams which is a bit scary, what could be so bad? Reliving the birth?

afm - River is more settled today thank goodness. Still cant put him down though and cos of his cold he slept on me last night. I try each day to put him down esp when he is fast asleep but to no avail! Oh well i guess i cant carry him forever. i also have booked him in to the chiro. I did this with C and found he slept alot better afterwards. Last night he went absolutely mental and i just couldnt console him. then he let out this massive fart and fell limp in my arms and went to sleep! He is such a windy bub and gulps heaps of air when he feeds. I might go to the local breastfeeding group and see the LC there. I think part of the problem is my letdown and the other is he wants to feed when he has a sore tummy but fusses heaps and swallows lots of air. Thus creating more sore tummy! bleh.

Dragonbub the bit of the show that upset me the most were some of the mothers comments. One who said she just ignores her babies cries until she sounds really distressed and then goes puts a dummy in and walks out.. another said she put her baby in another room because it was 'too noisy'

Hello everyone! My baby boy Jacob was born 2nd May @ 38wks.
It was a big shock to have him early and as an emergency csection, with no labour, but I seem to be out of the baby blues and starting to feel more confident. Jacob is my first.

Hi Everyone,

Just moving over from the belly buddies group.

My darling daughter Amelia Rae was born on May 14th. We are both doing well and the breastfeeding is so much easier the second time around.

Will post again soon, but just wanted to drop in and say hi before heading to bed to catch up on sleep whilst the little one is asleep.

Well - Henry is 3 weeks old today. He has a blocked snotty nose at the moment which is making it a bit difficult for him to feed. I have soooooo much milk too...having to express the first 20-30ml so he doesn't choke & gag when he latches on. I have him feeding on one side only for 15 mins and he is full! He is sleeping for 3hrs between feeds, so i figure he must be getting enough milk to be satisfied - i suppose he would wake if he was hungry?

Thanks JMO, it's nice to be here. I know just how you feel with the milk supply. I'm almost wishing Amelia awake to feed to give me some comfort. I've had to express a couple of times while waiting for her, otherwise my milk just sprays her in the face before I can latch her on. I've also been having trouble getting her to latch on the the left nipple. I've been using the football position to combat it, but it's not easy to do when you go out.

I've been enjoying sleeping on my back again, when I get to sleep in my bed that is. Amelia started out as a real tummy sleeper, and as soon as we put her down on her back she would wake up. So I spent a couple of nights on the couch holding her whilst she slept. She's now doing better and as long as I put her down slowly, she'll stay asleep.

How's everyone gping with nappy rash. Amelia has quite a rash and I'm wondering if it something I've been eating.

I have to use football on left and across body on right. Jacob feeds better off the left, he still has times of bad attachment on right.. Ow!
Jacob was waking himself for feeds so they were only 3hrs apart, but now he's past birth weight he's slowed down a bit to 4-5 hourly, which is hard for me to get used to, I keep wanting to wake him for a feed, getting all worried, but if I do he just throws it up or has bad gas... So I guess he doesn't need it 3hrly now.

So it's pretty quiet in here, I'm guessing we are all busy with our newborns.

Amelia is doing well. We are slowly getting the hang of feeding from the left, and her sleeping is starting to follow some kind of pattern. This week has been my first at home with the kids alone, and it's been okay. My husband gets home after their bedtime, and this is probably the most trying time of the day. My toddler desperately wants my attention, but I also need to ensure I'm looking after the baby. This has ended in a few tantrums from him, and tears from me.

I managed to clear up the nappy rash with Sudocream, but it's an ongoing process as I try to work out what is upsetting her tummy.

I hope everyone is doing well.

Sorry to hear about all the tummy problems. The only thing I can think of is that it's wind. But if you say burping is going well then maybe something that you've eaten doesn't agree with bubs?

Bellybellyburton - I was glad (well not glad) to read your bub throws up his feeds. My bub does as well and I was a bit concerned about colic or reflux. It's put my mind at ease. She only throws up the first feed of the day as I'm so full and I think she gets too much and up it comes lol. I never had this problem with my first 2 as I didn't have a good supply. But this time around I'm pumping after feeds to keep it going. Infact I feel like all I do all day is feed and pump, feed and pump lol.

It feels so good having the boys home finally! 2 1/2 weeks in SCN and I never want to see that place again!
Both boys are still feeding well. Lleyton feels very bloated though and I'm not sure how to fix it, it's not wind as I've burped him and his bums forever playing tunes but his poor tummy is hard and rounded

Porshe I felt like that when the twins were in SCN all I was doing was feeding, pumping, topping them up with EBM through a tube all day long!
Maybe you have a point with something I've eaten maybe not agreeing with Lleyton causing his tummy issues. I think I'm going to rethink my whole diet I'm so tired I need foods that give me energy an are healthier for feeding and better for the twins.

Hi all, thought I'd pop in and see who's around lol. Phoebe is doing great and putting on heaps of weight. She sleeps well and doesn't cry much at all. Bout time I had me one of these lol.

MrsS - I'm so glad the boys are doing well and are home with you now.

Everyone else I'm glad the babies are settling in nicely at home. I have 2 toddlers to wrangle while dealing with Phoebe so I can understand how you others feel :/

MrsS - Maybe try having a Sustagen a day. I am having 2 a day. Mostly to keep my milk supply up. But it might be just what you need?

Kim - I'm glad Phoebe is doing well. You must be superwoman to have 2 toddlers as well lol. I'm lucky my 2 are older and can help out heaps.

AFM Lilly has put on 270gms in a week lol. She's well and truly past her birth weight now. And I'm also pleased to say it's all breastmilk. I even have a nice little stash in the freezer. Gosh why coudn't my first 2 have been like that? She only sleeps once a day but sleeps really well through the night. I can cope with the days as long as she sleeps during the night. She also seems to be smiling! Even my midwife agreed lol. Must be a smart cookie like her daddy.

Hello Ladies,
Sorry have been MIA for a few days. Busy here with newborn stuff and toddler stuff, LOL. Playing it safe and not going too far from home as River tends to be unsettled in the car Feeding is going great, supply is good and I think my lil fella probably weighs about 4.3 kg so far (about a kg since birth weight). He gets tired easily and pretty much wakes for a feed, nappy change, bit of a cuddle then back to sleep again. He has a scream on him though! It is much easier to handle this time round though thankfully.

Kim - LOL about finally getting a "good" baby! Glad to hear Phoebe is doing so well after all the pregnancy dramas

Porsche - I feel like a milk machine although I am not pumping at the moment. I might start in a few weeks after BFing is firmly established, only because he is getting plenty of milk and I pumped for over a year with Caden (so DH could give him a night time feed and I could go out for weddings etc). It was full on and I probably threw out litres of milk. Oh well, this time I might try and donate to PMH.

MrsS - glad to hear you are settling in at home, that is awesome news! My lil guy is quite windy too, despite bringing up awesome burps after a feed. He gets it out though and doesn't seem to bother him. I know with Caden I avoided caffiene, chocolate, and the usual cabbage etc. This time I am pretty much doing the same thing and have avoided a very hard tummy so far.

dragonbub, interesting to hear you avoided coffee when breastfeeding. I did with my first and had no problems, and have been using decaf with amelia, but I'm thinking this may be why she is so cranky when passing motions. Will have to give it up and look for a difference.

porsche, glad to hear your milk supply is providing you extra. I've been doing the same, and starting to get a back up supply in the freezer.
