Silicon muffin cases all tacky after washing?

I have some silicon muffin trays 6 per tray, most likely bought from target haven't used in prob a year as not much of a baker, got them out cupboard and they feel all tacky, I though maybe had put away not that clean as am certainly not a domestic goddess but after washing in jot soapy water they are the same - any ideas? Are they ruined? I think are probably still usable so will I just have to put up with the tacky feeling? How to avoid doing it to other silicon things?

Next time you use them put in paper cases then see how they are after a hot soapy wash.
I have one from Aldi and find it doesn't clean like tin pans but still cooks well. I clean mine with hot soapy water and use a green scrub pad as well to get off any food left on.

i bought one today, haven't undone packaging. Are they rubbish? If they are, i'll return mine. I bought a mini muffin tray. If you have to line them with patty pans, what's the point of them?????

Not sure of other brands but mine is used for zucchini slice and I find it stains but I can live with that.

I just got mine out today and found the same - tacky. It irritates me when I try to use it anyway so I think I'm going to chuck it out.

Mmmm - I will just live with the tackiness I think - sounds like it isn't my "user-error" which has caused it.

never had a problem with any of my silicone bakeware, but it is a different brand. Maybe it is just the cheapies that have this problem???

I haaaate silicone for baking! (except for my spatula) Something has to be said for going back to basics and using the tin ones.

I would. I find them really annoying - also because you have to put them on a tray as they are floppy- so I don't see the point. Going by the number of silicon patty cases we have come in through our junk box at work, lots of people don't like them!

I have to say I liked it before when I was using it regularly and never actually had to put on a tray even though is flexible - but I am not a cook at all. I think it must be something to do with being unused for a while with residue on it, because have just been looking at the teats I had for bottles that used with EBM for DD and they are the same - feel all tacky and horrible (I am going to chuck those and buy new ones).

Just read via google, that soaking in vinegar may get rid of the tackiness, and the more you oil them the more tacky they are likely to become.
