Wow you all have so many nappies, I get by on the bare minimum. I have some I never use, I should sell them.

I'm having trouble keeping up, but someone mentioned pop ins. they're good? Has anyone tried gro via?

Also, can anyone recommend good leak proof training pants, my son was tted, but seems to be having a set back since baby sissy arrived on the scene.

WOHB - sposie. need to strip wash all my nappies plus he has an awful nappy rash. waiting until next change then i can put some moo goo on it after buying some whilst out shopping this morning

Yeah, kuraiza, I'm actually not that proud of my addiction. But we hardly buy anything for this kid - all her clothes and furniture are second hand, so I think my nappy (and carrier) frenzy is fuelled by some provider instinct.

Kit - black's a great colour for nappies! We have a black BBH petite on the way, and a black ruffle nappy. I reckon they'll look really good with cow print BabyLegs

helle - did you also read the Mandymac cloth article?

Ugh, we had a sliver of sun before, so I put on a load of nappies. Sun is gone again. I give up.

I was eyeing off the mandy macs ages ago Helle. I don't have faith in my snappi abilities though That reminds me, I need to get nappy pins and practice pinning on one of DD's dolls so bubs doesn't get poked a bit.

Kuraiza-I'm on the lookout for training pants for DD shortly so I'll let you know if I hear of anything good.

I'm queen if snappis. That's what DS started off in. Terry flats and snappis! They're so easy!

Audax was that the "science of washing nappies?"

So this moo goo, it is safe to use with mcn? How about with suede cloth, or whatever lines bum genius?

I got sudocream on my bumgs when the liners I was using failed, and I've scrubbed them and stripped them a million times but I'm not sure they'll ever be the same.

Still better than my leaky green kids, though. Don't know why I have so much trouble with green kids when other people love them, but I think the bamboo inserts are just too thick and stiff to allow a snug fit.

    Moogoo is fine with MCN's

so i'm on the Mandy Mac website... i think they'd be a good little nappy for NB's with the snappis myself. You could adjust to just the right fit.. or am I being optimistic? I'm still tossing up as to whether to get prefolds or not... i don't like the pin idea!

Kuraiza, could you try using different inserts with the GK's? I've never bought actual GK inserts I don't think.

CL - you totally need to master snappis, they're the bomb! If you have a piece of old carpet, or aren't precious about yours (or are in a rental like we were when we started, lol), you can pre stretch them on the carpet, which makes them a bit easier/looser to use. I don't trust myself with pins, I don't recall if I've ever jabbed a bub, but I've definitely got myself! Tis why I'm a bit of a prefold gal...

The prefolds I have aren't snappi-able. hmmm, do we have carpet? OOO, yes, a rug in the spare room and that's it. I'm going to practice pins and if it's an epic fail I will just use the covers to keep the nappies on. They'll be a snug fit around flats and prefolds. I'm going to use the fold with the extra padding around the front for bubs (only one I can remember ) so I'll have a few layers of nappy to avoid sticking bubs

We just woke up from a nap and I feel so horrid. I have the worst reflux/heartburn in history. Going to take it easy this arvo. I was going to do an abby gro/bbh inserts deep soak but I'll get through the pile of washing I discovered in DD's room yesterday and the sheets first.

WOCB: nothing, airing it after her nap where she wore a nappy.

CL - slippery elm in apple juice for the heartburn. Works better than anything I found. I will ship it if you need me to, I feel your pain!
Snappis are ace, they are way better than pins. If I ship to you (which I will, because your training pants will be finished tonight, I will chuck in two pre-stretched snappis.

I hate pins. Hate them big time. If you do use them, buy good ones. Cheapies suck.

kuraiza - I use prefolds in my GKs. I bought them without inserts, with the intention of making my own, but my homemade prefolds were just a perfect fit, so I never did.

Our rental carpet copped some big nuggets during nappy free time a wee while ago (Get it? WEE while? )

WONB: Bamboozle and a maz cover.

ETA: NO Bex! I really can't buy any more! You're terrible!

ooooooo, did you end up doing the training pants?

Is slippery elm from the health food shop? If it wasn't the heartburn or baby fighting with my belly button waking me up, it was DP saying i was snoring. Seriously, I've put up with his snoring for 9 years, he can deal with mine for 2 months! It doesn't matter how I lay too.

I was going to get the decent quality pins for sure because the el cheapo ones are blunter. I'm more likely to have issues getting them through the material if they're blunt. I'm just hoping they aren't nickel or have high concentrates of nickel in the metal composition. I'll have to stop using them if they are.

ETA: Strip washing is where you do a hot wash with a few drops dishwashing liquid on nappy inserts. It gets rid of all the residual creams/washing products/smelly residue. You just keep rinsing until there are no more bubbles

Got the cutest baby legs to go with my new wool cover today. So bub is decked out in pink babylegs, burgundy wool cover over minky 'clothed up' with trifold and a little white cardi - ADORABLE!!!

With regard to colth and clothing in winter, what do you find fits best over cloth? Do you just go up a size? my mum and i have a sewing business so she has made me some pants but just curious to see what others do? Wool leg warmers, anyone know where to get some?

I'm keen to make some more boosters, tell me the best place to source fabric for nappy making please

    Sheesh I'm way behind again!

Bex what colour pop in? I have 2 and got 1 at the eofy sale the other night but another wouldn't hurt
It breaks my heart to say this but I don't like my bonnibuns night nappy I'm lazy overnight and it just doesn't go the distance.

Fluffy mail today, 2 issy bear velcros. My plan is to use these for naps. The V3 insets are really long!

    Wowb- bonnibuns workhorse.

We've had the heater on causing dry sinuses and that combined with the little extra weight I put on and yo-yoing blood pressure makes me snore like a chainsaw. Plus I am so freaking tired chasing the Pixie around. If he wakes me again tonight he will cop an ear bashing and possibly banishment to the couch

Pixie hasn't had one accident today and even pulled her pants/undies down herself for the potty before. It makes me really proud. We're not quite up to the going out with undies on bit yet although she did voluntarily go to the potty before our walk to the servo for milk last night and didn't wee while we were there even though the new cashier was rather slow (20 minutes in the line for 5 people). That's a pretty awesome effort for my water guzzling piddle princess
