Over the last week, DD has had a rotten cold. Really revolting constantly running nose, she was grizzly, not much of a cough, lots of eye rubbing. Overall though, she's been happy to play, eat, etc.
Her nose stopped running on Saturday. Now she has four enormous pimples on her face. One in her hairline and one on her jawline on the right of her face and two massive ones on her cheek on the left. They are exactly where she was wiping her face when her nose was running. She'd wipe her nose and spread it across her face before I could get to her with a tissue.
Are the two related or should I be worried. They aren't blister like, they are nowhere else on her body.
I'd just pop her to the GP babe, it might just be excess oil from all the rubbing and touching but it's better to be safe right?
Hope she's ok now.. poor girl.
Pac - my DS got some sort of boil under his arm, from a staph infection - looked like a horrible nasty pimple. Then it burst and as the fluid drained, this nasty crop of smaller pimples appeared - which the GP said was most likely from the transfer of of the staph-infected fluid onto his skin, they turned into surface infections.
We basically had to keep it clean (as much as possible), use savlon and had a script for oral ABs if it didn't clear after a few days.
The staph bug lives inside our nose - everyone's nose - so it is possible that as her nose ran and she wiped it, she's wiped some sort of bug onto her skin. Probably nothing serious but she may need some ABs to help clear it. I'd be going to the GP hun.
Yep, sounds like Staph. Will clear up with some anti-biotics and keeping it clean.
Just one of them things that sadly, you really had no control over. Try and get it sorted sooner rathen than later.. if they turn nasty, they can scar.
Okay, did a runner to the chemist because I never have a hope getting into our normal GP on short notice. Chemist sent me to the GP next door to them (just opened up). It's a bacterial infection, to be treated with cream (because it's not bothering her). I have to go back in three days so the doctor can see what it's doing and give us antibiotics if the cream isn't working.
I was really impressed with the GP, she was thorough, verbalised her thought process and made sure I was happy with what she came up with. In the process of transferring all our medical documents to the clinic. Been very unhappy with our old clinic of late.
Thanks for your replies. I have my almost 3 year old niece coming over tonight, but have been assured it's not contagious.
That's a great way to find a Dr. Am looking for a new one also as is DD2, she wants a female if possible but hard to find. Sounds like you have found a good Dr, your hope DD picks up soon
