    Need Cloth Diaper Help!

I am so frustrated I could cry. I have been researching cloth diapers all day and coming up empty. Here is my problem:
    I have small babies..like 5 lbers.
I WANT to just buy a huge lot of BumGenius AIO's that last until she is almost 2....but the weight limit starts at 7 pounds.
    What to do!

Just subbing as my first DD was very small too (5 lb 10 oz). I'm wondering whether I have to do disposable with this one until she's big enough to fit the MCNs?

    Have you considered prefolds?

Even with prefolds...I would still have to get a diaper cover and the diaper covers dont make ones that go very far. They are up to 12 lbs usually. Luckily, Grovia has a huge 30% sale so I might just have to suck it up and accept I will have to buy newborn cloth diapers and then the bigger ones..

BBH does covers from Newborn up, there are 4 sizes, this might help if using prefolds? Also, I know little britches does smaller sizing.

I'm not sure of your reasoning for using cloth, but if it is financial then you might want to weigh up the costs of buying a separate set of newborn stuff with the cost of sposies for a month or two till you get into your OFSMs...

Not that I am an expert (see signature!) as DS2 could go straight into his bambootys mediums from birth!

I think TM is looking not to have to buy sized nappies (plus she's in the USA).
I agree with Bloom about weighing up the cost. You can always onsell your little nappies when you've done with them.

You also might be surprised. I had a littlie and then a whopper - he was a whole 2lbs heavier.

Most babies have to have different newborn nappies to those for when they are older. My LO was 8lb 4oz and still didn't fit one size until after 4 months or so.

I have a newborn stash that i have thought of as an investment for future bubs, and to lend out to my brothers and others if they want to try cloth. Almost all were bought second hand. i have a combo of small MCNs (all-in-ones), small fitteds & small covers, and prefolds.

I know a few people though that use disposables when bub is little and go into MCNs when bub fits into mediums or OSFMs.

Yeah I have a bunch of newborn covers and about 12 newborn prefolds and 4 newborn MCN's. The rest of my stash is OSFM pocket nappies and Infant Prefolds and covers for once bub is bigger.

I do have some sposies as well just in case

    I second prefolds.

DD is 9mths and is still in smalls of most nappies and on the smallest setting of osfm.

Yeah I was trying to not have to buy sizes so that I could use a whole lot for the remainder of potty days but... I have realized after much research I will need to buy newborn nappies and then another set later. It seems like the general consensis on here as well. HAs anyone tried Grovia? They have an amazing sale right now on AIO's for newborns and considering those.

Yep my new born MCN's are Grovia newborns. They came highly recommended. After having most of my stash in Little Britches I was well pleased with the quality of the Grovia AIO's.

I mostly bought them for my husband who was a little daunted at first at the idea of Prefolds and covers. He calls them his "Daddy Cloth Nappies"
