    DH's employer AGAIN

Professor missed 2 days of work last week, one the day after we found out the bank was foreclosing on us, and one up at the hospital with me. Then yesterday he was in hospital all day with the same thing.

Today he's at the office to 'catch up', and doesn't know what time he'll be home.

I'm not sure if this is the culture in every workplace, but I'm so sick of it. They have an entire drafting TEAM, why does he get ripped into when he has a couple of days off?! He's been told several times he's THE most accurate team member, except when it comes to performance reviews they screw him over.

I'm so sick of not seeing my husband, and I'm sick of them not even appreciating what he does - they'll never thank him. He works over Christmas every year for them as well, he offers, because we don't celebrate it anyway. But is any of the good stuff ever remembered when it's pay/performance review time, or when he applies for another position in the company? Of course not.

Hun a performance review is taken from a 360 view meaning peers, supervisors etc all comment so if they are ripping him off they should be proof. Perhaps he could ask to see some of the reviews?

If your hubby is the most accurate person, it makes sense that they wouldn't handball work off to others in the team, if you want a job done you get your most reliable, best person for the job. Doesn't mean they have the right to rip into him for having a day off but I can understand that part of it for sure. My boss was exactly the same, she would save up work for me to do from my days off rather than dealing with them because I was the best person to sort it out. I had 3-4 phone calls when I was at home with gastro, asking me how to do something. Is the boss allowing him to see his performance reviews and discuss them? every workplace the does performance reviews should do them with the employee, and get them to sign them off, they are supposed to be used as a personal development tools not as a discipline tool.

He should keep a log of what he does that is above and beyond and use this in reviews - it is a 2 way process and he needs to advocate for himself too.
he should proactively set up a time out of review cycle and tell them he expects a good review and ask what he needs to do to obtain that. then he has aplan to work twds and some commitment from them. if he wants other roles has he id'd them to his boss and does he have some development pts that will assist him in getting there.

These are some practical ideas to hel[
the other part of me says BOO to them and i am sorry you have had sucha tough time x
