    Blowing out birthday candles

At what age did your LO blow out his/her candle for the first time?

I'm interested too. Hannah just turned 1 and she couldn't blow out her candle.

Ditto - DS couldn't blow his out at his 1st b'day. He's 20 months now and can barely make the bubbles in his bubble bath move - just doesn't have the 'blowing' action right yet! I'm hoping he'll figure it out in the next four months....

I don't think either of the girls could do their 1st birthday but they both learnt before their 2nd with family birthdays and things along the way.
DD2's b'day was on the w/end and she blew out some candles.

By 2nd Birthday, DD could blow out her candles. Plenty of practise with blowing out candles around our house and blowing bubbles, etc.

I don't think any of my kids could blow out their candle at 1, I've always done it and I've made a wish for them. We have a thing that on the 1st birthday, after the candle is blown out, that they can take a bite out of the side of the cake or grab a handful of cake. I love watching them get grubby whilst enjoying their first ever birthday cake

By 2 they were able to blow it out though.

by 2, but we always had a 2nd cake for the kids to blow out because the last thing you want is dribble all over the cake you want to eat and the fact that all the kids want a go at blowing out the candles

yeah not at 1 but by 2, an expert no family birthday cake is safe & we've had to re-light candles so DS & his cousin both get a turn!

DD2 gave it a red hot go with her cake on the weekend but I think the flying spit might have done the job not so much the blow
