I love water. Have no problem drinking it 99 per cent of the time but, every now and then I feel like something different...Something a little bit sweet. So, I get a large glass, put about 10 frozen blueberries in and top with soda water. You can mush them up a bit if you like but I find they flavour the water anyway. Every now and then you get a little burst of sweetness from a whole berry
When you feel like you might fall off the wagon, exercise! Even just a quick walk makes me feel healthier and tends to make me want to reach for an apple instead of chocolate.
Dance while you do your housework
I don't get a chance to get out of the house & exercise & walking doesn't do much, coz all kids have to come & that leads to dawdling...
So I turn up my music while I clean & dance & sing. I also started Zumba (2 days ago), but every time I'm bored, i'll go put it on & have a go. I'm not too worried about losing weight, i think stress has fixed that for me, but I'm sick of my baby belly!
Being now single & knowing I can get attention is pretty good motivation too
I try to do simple things like cutting down sugar in tea and coffee, drinking a glass of water when I feel like snacking (sometimes it's actually thirst not hunger that im feeling. And eating my meals more slowly so I actually stop when I'm full!
I'm losing weight and all I've really done is change my attitude, as a result I'm not craving junk food. Heck I've had a family sized block of chocolate in the fridge for the last week and it is still unopened.
Use smaller plates and bowls. It means you can't fill it up so much, so it is less calories and psycologically you see your plate is full so when you finish your (smaller) meal, you feel full beacuse you ate everything!
I would run around the lounge room and chant "I want to look good in bathers, I want to look good in bathers." LOL! It worked though because I was able to get into a good rhythm with the chant. That and allowing myself one night "off" each week, where I didn't gorge, but could have a little something.
Sit down to eat. Even if it's just a cracker. Making yourself sit down to eat makes you realise what you're eating, quite often it's easy to forget snacking if you're racing round the kitchen preparing something or on the run between errands etc.
