    The Breakfast Club Challenge.

Hands up if you regularly skip breakfast or substitute a cup of coffee and a couple of mouthfuls of carbs for a healthy breakfast.

    *raises hand*.

I'm thinking that eating a proper breakfast most mornings should be my next health goal. Anybody want to join me?

I'm going to start with a bowl of cereal. Once I can get on top of pouring cereal and milk into a bowl and eating it I might try something more ambitious.

I will join in. Most mornings I only manage a cup of tea but I am attempting to eat oats for breakfast in winter. Silly as it sounds but on school mornings I just don't have the time to sit down and eat, its all a bit manic here

How about a smoothie with some fruit, yogurt and wheatgerm in it? You could put it all in the blender the night before so all you have to do is hit the whizz button.

that's a great idea with 4 kids to get ready in a morning breakfast is usually a nightmare hence skipping it, I found a recipe for some breakfast muffins too (healthy)that can be baked ahead

I've been doing this for awhile. I hard boil some eggs and keep them in the fridge to have on toast when I'm short on time.

5:am do organic yogurt "power packs" in squeezy things which are great for on he run.

A little idea for anyone time poor - bacon and egg cups done in muffin tins, topped with some ricotta or feta, half a grape tomato and some chives!

Good luck chicks, my go to is toast and coffee literally eaten on my way out the door and not much I can do to change it right now!!!

I'm in! I usually don't eat at home so then I stop at the cafe for coffee and raisin toast. Such a crap habit. I am up for cereal or eggs on grain toast if I am up early enough - another thing I need to do

@ ginger - try a blob of gourmet yoghurt +/- some fruit (fresh or compote) +/- a smidge of crunchy toasted muesli/or other crunchy toasty topping like slivered nuts for texture.

I am in the process of changing what I eat to low carb. I confess my "breakfast" on workdays used to be a coffee and a coffee scroll or date scone or cheesymite scroll or hot cross bun (you get the idea...) after I got to work. While I still wait until I get to work, I now have my homemade casheroo bars or a plain paleo pancake or similar with my coffee. On home days, I eat eggs or something else cooked. I love porridge but limiting that to once a fortnight.

I'm still not great at breakfast but I figure I am doing better than a high carb, sugary option.

I really had to force myself to get into eat breakfast and still do. I'm just not into eating in the mornings. I've found a smoothie the best bet. I have 250ml low fat milk, one banana, 25g raw oats and a sprinkle of cinnamon. So yummy!

Got up earlier than usual and had two poached eggs on grain toast. Still stopped at the cafe for a coffee but nothing else

Wow! I can't believe that so many people skip breakfast.....says me who did that for years while doing a 2 hour commute to work. Thankfully I met my (now) DH.

He will not let me go without breakfast. I have a poached egg on toast every morning (he makes it for me). Every now and then in winter (or when DH is away) I will have traditional oats. I find these [oats] easier to do on my own as I suck at poaching eggs. I pop them on the stove and let them simmer away while getting ready for work then DS2 and I will eat them together.

Well done to all of you for getting on the breakfast challenge!! It really IS the most important meal of the day!

I used to hate eating int he mornings but started having breakfast earlier this year. I just have yoghurt and muesli or fruit and I scoff it down while making the kids school lunches, but I feel SO much better for it. It's hard for me to function now I don't have breakfast.

I had my oats and half cup of tea this morning while the kids were getting changed - yay for me! Perhaps it helped that the 3rd little monkey was still asleep (so unusual for her!) so I had the time and was more organised...
