Ear plugs for swimming with grommets

    Hi All,

Just as my title suggests, could you recommend ear plugs for a 2yo while swimming? Now that the warmer weather is here I'd like DD2 to enjoy water as much as she can.

    TIA!

I use ear putty instead of ear plugs on DD1 and she wears a swimming cap too over the top. I did buy a band that is made of wetsuit material to go over her ears but she has a head like me and headbands just slide off.

We have actually found Blue tak to be the most effective (but didnt go down the path of getting professionally made ones) did have some kiddie earplugs we bought from target, but she did tend to play with them a bit. The blue tak was better

Both my brothers used Blu-tak the whole time they had grommets. Looks weird, feels a bit strange putting it in, but it works.

Blu tack is good because its stickier than the putty you get at the chemist. My DSD was 7 when she got grommets - and had them out last Monday (now 11) and the putty just wasn't as good. But se how you go

DD1 is having surgery for grommets tomorrow and will be re-starting swimming lessons in 3 weeks. just wanted to ask, with the Blu-Tack, is it actually safe to use in ears??!

Well, it never occurred to me that it would be a problem.... In fact I think the Dr suggested it..... She doesn't seem to have any dramas from it - in fact it helped a lot and was much better than everything else....
But of course check with the Dr if you are worried - and if they say there's any issues - let us know!!!

My DD used Docs Proplugs, we got them from the ENT, they're sized and we used the head band from little grommets, she used for 3 years, I find as a swim teacher that blu tak falls out
