    Liner necessary for breastfed poo?

Just received a trial Motherease one size stay dry fitted and PUL Rikki cover. DD is almost 3 months and is breastfed so we have runny poo aplenty ! Should I be using some sort of liner to minimise staining on our new fitted or is it just folly at this stage? I know I can get stains out on the line in the sunshine (is working a treat at the moment with the flats she wears by day) so should I even be worried?

Am wondering about this nappy for night time. DD sleeps about 6-7 hours and is in sposies for night ATM. What should I boost it with? It came with a booster but as far as I can see it will only snap on when the nappy is set on the largest setting, which is no good at the moment. Would the PUL Rikki be any good at night or should I invest in a wool cover? I am thinking of knitting one.

    Cheers!

Liners are fairly useless for breastmilk poo, and tbh, I only ever use liners when I am using a barrier cream for nappy rash. Nappies are meant to be poo'd on (although it is a bit distressing the first time you see your lovely MCNs all yucked up)! Poo stains come out fine in the sun.

Some people use sposies when their bubs have had to take panadol, as the panadol stains the nappies a greyish black. In some cases, it's only the poo that stains, in which case liners are fine. In my experience, the panadol stains through wee (could just be my bub), so liners are useless for me. I've found that microfibre and hemp stains awfully and doesn't come out even after sun drying, but bamboo stains a lot less, and only when I've left the nappy in the bucket for a day (even after a good rinse). Bamboo tends to come clean after a good stint in the sun though. This is just IME though.

ETA: don't have an answer for the boosting, have not used motherease nappies! Hopefully someone who has will pop in.

    Hi,
i found that liners are useless and just somehow caused more "blowouts" by directing the poo straight out the legs!

    HEll yeah!!!!

I swore by liners with my daughter and gave up on them after the first month as they were more a nuisence then a help. NB's are so little and the nappys are already big without putting anything else in 'down there'

Wait to summer babe...the sun will bleach out any stains...trust me

oh and put the booster on the outside of the nappy, between the nappy and cover...it will absorbe anything..and dont you dare cook your babies bum in PUL overnight..owie you'll be asking for nappy rash there honey. Get some great woolie covers from BBH or tots bots (I think they have wool) or get your hands on some fleece ones from aroudn the traps...even better, its winter so longies are they way to go....knitted pants that just go over the nappy and allow your babies bum to breath. they are great for night time as they are warm and do a fab job. (say's a person who has bought *gulp* 7 pairs for her son)

Ok, so no PUL for night time???
I'm just wondering because with a fully BF babe the poos are so explosive so I was hoping to use PUL up until the runnyness subsides a bit as I don't fancy having to 1) handwash and lanolise wool covers all the time & 2) buy lots of expensive wool covers. Although I might ask MIL if she can knit some...
