    hi there,
I am 14 weeks pregnant and i have been a long distance runner for almost 10 years! This is my 2nd pregnancy. I am currently running 4-5 times a week and swimming 3 times a week.

would love to chat with other running 'expecting' mums and your experiences!!

thanks for your good wishes Alyssa's mum.

what a shame there is no one to chat with and share the joy of running in pregnancy with. No worries, I will just keep on running along.

Anyone a swimmer out there ? I am also swimming 3 times a week - usually in the afternoons after a morning run.

Anyway, love to hear from ya!

    Hi runnermum

I ran a half marathon in April and didn't do much running in the early stages of pregnancy (probably from weeks 6 - 12) due to exhaustion and m/s. Have just started back this past week with 20 minutes three days per week. I quite enjoy when I can get out for a run (am 13 weeks now) - it really does make me feel much better. The only issue I have is that I get a bit tired and extremely hungry the next day. I'm not trying to push it though - just taking it easy and listening to how I am feeling. I will probably try to build it up to 3 - 4km 3 -4 times per week (am probably only doing 2km at the moment - just slowly taking it easy). we will see how long I can keep going for.

I'm not much of a swimming an though.

    Hi

Well I'm not currently exercising, but Bec is a runner and a swimmer and Rachel is training to become a PT and we all have LOADS of fun chatting in the following thread. Not one of them is expecting, but hey, does it really matter?

    hi Andjxx,
thanks so much for your post - congrats on your half marathon in April, was this your first one?

Building up slowly is the way to go especially since you had 6 weeks without running. I had to take off about 10 days of running from about weeks 7-8/9....and then started to run/walk again - in week 9. Now, in my 17th week, I am looking forward to doing a
10km fun run at the end of August, so I will be 19.5 weeks by then...wow, almost half way through!

You have a great attitude - just do what you feel like and want to do!! Your body and mind will thank you in the long term..

I think what will be HARDER is trying to get out for runs in the morning with a newborn baby AND and a 6 year old about to start school!! Organisation will be EVERYTHING (and very early starts!).
