    Child support question?

    Hi girls,
Have been trying to put my head in the sand and avoid the phone call to child support.
Please dont get me wrong with this statement but
I work full time and care for DD for the week except of 16 hrs. Friday and Sat day only when I am at work(For that time ExMil takes DD to kindermusic, something she has done before the split and then Ex picks her up) So really Ex has her alone for about 14hrs a week. DD is still traumatised to stay overnight with Ex and he is not pushing overnighters at the moment.
Overall we are on the same page trying to make this as easy as it can be.
I make a fair wage and pay DD childcare and all other activities such as swimming. Ex has a low low paying job and I am hearing stories such as I will have to pay him Chid support for the amount of time he has DD .
I have ran it thru the child support calculator is says 0 to him and 0 to me. Do you think this is an error or is correct as at this stage he doesnt have DD all that much.
Also it asks for Days, well it is 2 days but the total of 16 hrs so does that take it to 1 (24hrs).
Thanks to anyone who can understand this and may shed some light on this

if he has bubs less than a certain amount of time, you don't have to pay him anything

essentially they look at how much time you both have the child - if you have them more than 86%, you're considered to have them all the time, there is no obligation for you to pay to him, and due to his minimal income, none for him to pay to you. you get full FTBA in lieu of child support. if the percentage of care is between 14 and 35%, the calculations get much more complex - but you don't have that division of care, so it's not a drama. ring up, get the assessment in place - all it's going to do is stop you losing any ftba for not meeting the governments obligation to attempt to collect child supprt

    sanks Bec

good luck - the phone call should be relatively pain free

if you've been seperated a while (not sure of your circs) get your CSA case number, and contact FAO so they can make sure it's recorded that you've taken maintenance action

    BG,
Just an update, I called CS and the woman I got on the call was soooo helpful and understanding in our tricky situation. Ex rang and got the same woman too and all was sorted with in the hour.
I'm sure sometimes the staff at CL and CS get bad raps but hey in the last 3 weeks where they even found tissues as I was sobbing in CL, and when she wished me good luck she even sounded legit
Thank you too the wonderful people at these govement offices they made me feel human as a single working mother.
