I've just received a letter from centrelink saying that im no longer eligible for CCB and that they've cancelled it because Toby isn't immunised. HE IS IMMUNISED!
I've been trying to call the number on the letter for over an hour and it's engaged! Apparently the hours are 8-8 mon-fri! Im getting more and more furious every time i hear those beeps!!
Sorry BG if you read this
Now i will have til Monday to sort this crap out!

Oh what! How annoying! You should have all the batch numbers etc in his blue book at least you can prove it. I hope you can get through and sort it out.. i bet theyve shut up thinking oh no one will notice.. what a PITA! Typical centrelink for you!
I got the same a while back. I called and gave them the details of the imunisations (batch numbers, the Dr who did them) and they followed it up. The GP (who we no longer use) didn't put the info in the system.
I'm sure you'll get it sorted no worries, just a pain in the bum in the meantime.
Maybe try ringing your dr to tell them that you received the letter and could they kindly update the system. You might have better luck getting through at that end.
Dont worry it wil get sorted out. We had to happen to us too. Now we don't immunise but we signed a conscientious agreement with the dr and still get the CCB.
I finally got through. The Australian Immunisation Register hasn't provided up to date details to FAO so they have cancelled my benefit. I explained that they are up to date and was told (very very rudely, which only infuriated me further!) that what I need to do is call the Immunisation Register, get a copy of Toby's immunisation history statement, then take it to centrelink, then wait up to 2 weeks for them re-instate the CCB!!!! In the meantime, i have to pay full price for Childcare!
Why was i paid the last CCB Rebate if his history isn't up to date?? Thats what i dont understand and when i asked i was told "i cant answer that because thats not procedure"! And i said "well how can that even happen?" and again was told "i cant answer that, we dont have any data that matches that"
It's not my fault that they haven't updated the information with FAO! But im the one who's paying for it

ok, waiting two weeks to get it rectified is horse ***** - it gets done on the spot
go to your local medicare office with history, i think they can update the immunisation register and should be able to print it from there showing dates of immunisation. you can then take the statement and REFUSE to leave the office until it's updated on the system
unfortunately, it's all automated - and if ACIR don't have the info, they send you a letter to follow up and give you a grace period - if it's not done, ccb is cancelled but if your child was up to date at the time, it's restored.
your rebate would have been processed by the child care provider on the info they had, and they wouldnt have gotten a cancellation notice til today like you
When the CCB rebates were being done, i got a letter saying that Toby's immunisations weren't up to date, which of course they were, and that the rebate couldn't be paid. So then i had to call the local council where they were done, then Medicare, then FAO and then the rebate was processed. If the history wasn't made up to date then, then how come i got the rebate? It doesn't make any sense to me!! It cant be up to date one minute and then the next it's not!?
What do i have to take into Medicare to get them to update the register? His blue book with all the immunisation dates?
i would contact medicare on monday on their 13 number. ask them what they need you to provide. i believe it's not a hard process, but to be honest, i've never had to do it directly as most people are able to get a letter from their doctor and provide it to centrelink and push the doctor to push it through to ACIR. i would just hate for your CCB to be cut for a couple of weeks while it's fixed kwim?
So i finally got to the bottom of it.... And im STILL not happy!
After speaking today to Medicare twice and the local council where Toby had his immunisations, it turns out that they only gave him half of one vaccine. He had Hib 3, without the Hepatitis B3! When i asked the council this morning why he wasn't given Hep B as well, she said, "the nurse on the day CHANGED the immunisations and Toby still needs to have Hep B"! I asked why on earth i wasn't told this on the day and she said "oh im sorry". I said that my Child Care Benefit had been cancelled beacuse of this and again was told "im sorry".
Now he has to have the Hep B injection on Saturday, then they're going to contact Medicare and update the register on Monday, then i have to go into Medicare and get updated history and then take it into Centrelink so that they'll restart my CCB!
In the meantime, i pay full price childcare!
If they had given him the CORRECT immunisation to start with, none of this would be happening! I now have to cancel clients that i have booked for Monday in order to sort all of this out. Not a very good look when it's your own business!
BG: If you read this, what are my chances of getting backpay since in his book, it states that all of his immunisations were up to date to my knowledge? The Hib3-Hepatitis B3 box has been stamped as though both were given.

you can appeal the cancellation based on what knowledge you have of the situation. i don't know how you would go about getting it back dated as you would have received notification and, in the eyes of the government, shoudl have followed up with medicare/local council within the grace period. BUT, there is nothing to stop you trying hun. i'm pretty sure you can print the appeal form off the c'link website, and from there, provide that and a copy of your stamped book to c'link. you can appeal over the phone, but they'll want to see evidence of your book, so may as well do it in writing and provide evidence together
But i did!I never had notification from the council though. I had notification from Centrelink saying that they weren't up to date and couldn't pay me the rebate. I followed it up then with the council, with medicare and with FAO. I was then paid the rebate. One would assume that it had all been updated then? To my knowledge it was all corrected and over and done with when i followed it up to get the rebate?
i would then contact FAO, find out the date you contacted (it will be on the system) and then appeal it based on the information from your council being incorrect. i wasn't having a go at you when i said about the notification - was just saying the basic line of "it's up to you to follow up". unfortunately, i can't say whether you will or won't win the appeal, all i can suggest is you get it started. you WILL have to pay for child care for now though hun - sorry
TT- same thing just happened to me- except my dr said - " your immusionation book is wrong it was supposed to be given at 6 months!" so i said" well- if my boook is worn then so is one milllion other others records too!" he has also scribbled on the book like both have been given but he admitted to me that is hasn't
so now i have to go to another dr and give him another needle
