Hi all - sorry no personals at the moment as should be working - but just wanted to let you all know that I got my GCT results and at 6.4 there is no sign of GD.

Chez - I am 37 (so in a higher risk bracket also) and I just had the NT scan and BT done. My risk went from something like 1 in 100 (which was purely my age related risk) down to 1 in 2,800 after the combined scan and BT. So we decided not to risk any further tests. On a personal note, I don't think that I would have had further tests done even if the result had not been good. However, that is such a personal decision. For me and my DH we were prepared to continue with the pregnancy even if our child was DS.

    Hooray!

    hi girls!

Well i have my BT booked for thursday morning and will be checking how HCG levels are going, im still very nervous but all the pain has subsided which is great, im feeling soooo tired all the time though and a bit dizzy if i get up too fast. other than that im fine when i get further down the track i wont be doing the DS testing as in one of my lectures last year there was a study done saying that 1 in a 100 cases where DS has been determined and the mother aborted or chose to still give birth the baby infact came out fine! was quite scary actually such a huge number! study was done recently too. So modern medicine isnt always correct! hope everyone is having a nice day! Oh and i also told my mum we were expecting again and she isnt too thrilled its not like im 16 im almost 22 and engaged! i was quite hurt actually but she will come around i guess she thinks im going to ruin my life!

    Hi ladies

Thanks for your replies and comments. At this stage we have definitely ruled out CVS as the miscarriage rate is too high for us. And we are going to go ahead and get the NT scan and bt done. Only then if the the number show a high risk will we consider having an amniocentesis done. There is just too much risk to our miracle baby for us to contemplate without cause other than age.

Thanks again and hope you're all having a great day!

    Hi ladies,

I hope to get to know you all and share this journey together.

I got my BFP on 27th Dec, I am still so excited, its hard not being able to tell anyone when all you want to do is shout it out and tell the world. I have my first pregnancy BT tomorrow, I hope all my levels are ok that everything goes well. Besides that being feeling nauteous and my tummy is getting a bit bigger already I hope I don't show too soon I wanted to keep it a secret until 3 months! And of course very sore BB ouch!
I am due on the 1st September and I still can't believe this has happened to me what an amazing Christmas miracle.

I am so happy for all of you and your miracles too and I can't wait to share this journey with you

Wishing you all a Safe, Happy and Healthy Pregnancy!

    HI All,

It's been ages since I posted in here, but thought I should get back into it now that I've almost hit the 12 week stage!

I have been lurking and reading, I'm glad to see that everyone is going along well to all!!

And congrats to Possums, Kaydee, Jen, Chez and 21andttc! Hope your pregnancies are happy and healthy! It's great to see so many extra BFP's in here . . .

AFM I'm 12 weeks on Sunday, and have my 12 week scan next Friday. Oh, and we found out at our 7 week scan that we're having twins, so that's exciting and a little scary at the same time

Alloy- oh wow! twins! yes, exciting and scary I bet...there are a few here having twins now

afm- been cruising along OK..but today feeling worried I dont have more symptoms yet....dont really feel sick..and boobs arent as sore as last time (they are a little bit sore and heavier than normal, but thats it)...I guess I just have to be patient and wait for the scan next week and try and not overanalyse everything!

    Hi all

Jen - congratulations and welcome. Hope you have a H&H pg.

Alloy - congrats on the twins. Excellent news!

Janie - you must be really relieved that there is no sign of GD. I am only starting to contemplate what happens after the first trimester, so I guess I need to start reading up on GTTs. And thanks for the advice on the testing - I hope we get a similar result!

    to everyone else.

AFM - had a shocking nauseas and low energy day yesterday. I think I need to change my morning routine of cereal with fruit and swap to porridge or something more protein based for breakfast. It seems whenever I have cereal I just can't seem to keep the nausea away for very long and by mid-morning I just want to curl up and sleep for the rest of the day. I thought I was following a low GI eating plan, but I think I need to check again! So today, am feeling a bit better, have even done a 40min walk on the treadmill. But a quiet day ironing and watching movies for me in the aircon I think - it's going to be a scorcher here today! Take care all.

    xx

    good morning ladies!

Welcome to all the new ladies and a big shout to JEN! im so glad you are in here too now! wondered where u were!

AFM - well nothing new just got sore nipples and feeling very tired, also had to postpone bloodtest until next week on wednesday as i wanted to see my GP and he is booked til then, im not stressing id rather have him from start to finish than some bloke i dont know and doesnt know my history and i cant change whats going to happen anyway, if im destined for miscarriage then i cant stop it with a bunch of numbers.

also BEL if u are reading i hope all is going well! im thinking of u!

Janie, good news on your GTT!

    Congrats 21 and Kaydee.

HM, all the best with your move and the busy time you have ahead of you. I hope you do still manage to pop in from time to time.

Alloy, good to see you pop back in. Big congrats on having twins!! Good luck for your scan next week.

Possums, it is hard not to over analyse everything. Just try and remember that subsequent pregnancies are not necessarily the same and people feel differently. You may not get many symptoms, or by next week you may be wishing away the m/s. Either way, I don't think we are ever content!

Chez, I survived on porridge for breakfast in the early stages of this pregnancy. I just found it kept me fuller for longer and a bit better energy wise than when I just had my weet bix. I put some LSA mix on the porridge as well for some added fibre. I did that until about 15weeks when I was well and truly over the stuff!

All you girls having scorchers today, stay cool and drink up!! It's a lovely 24 here today in Melbourne and I was complaining in 30 degrees yesterday. Hope you all get some relief soon.

AFM - Saw my GD Dr this week. He's happy as I have been able to keep it under control and I've lost 3kg. He's hoping that the GD may even fix itself as my own insulin may start to kick in and my metabolism improve on it's own. Didn't know that could happen, but would be great if it did.
27wk appointment with the midwives next week - looking forward to hearing the heartbeat again. Even though he's moving all the time it's still nice to hear it.
DH and I start our Calmbirth class tomorrow night. Really looking forward to this. Who else did this? Was it Nic?
Movement was very little over the weekend and I was beginning to wonder what was going on, but by Monday he was doing aerobics again. Feels like he's had a growth spurt, as they're much stronger and the big kicks near the cervix can bring tears to my eyes!

    Hope everyone else is well!
