im 23 and lately have been plucking my head more than my eye brows ...

why do i get grey hairs ..

big thick silvery grey ones , that hurt when i pull them out

on top of the damm annoying "baby" hairs that fluff out about 1-2inces from my head .. i get grey ones on my crown ...

    this is not hereditary...

LOL!! I have them as well, but I am 36 so think it is to be expected. Start worrying when you find grey pubes, that is all I will say then you will know you are getting old LOL!!

I noticed 1 or 2 grey hairs when I was about 20, by the time I was 24 I was dying my hair. I'm 31 now and still having to colour my hair. My brother has gone really grey and he is only a couple of years older than me. DH is blond so you can't really see his grey.
I don't know if you have noticed that people these days look younger, it is becasue of hair dye. Just have a look at some old photos.

At least you can dye it and cover it up, I have a friend who not only has had the grey patch since she was in her teens, she is now 31 and starting to thin and go a bit bald. It is unfortunatley normal and common to start getting grey hairs in your early 20's. Even if you pluck they will grow back, it is that particular follicle that can no longer hold pigment so the next one that grows through will be the same. Dye it or pluck it if you want to, whatever makes you happy and remember your only as old as you act. He he he

Lea.... my hairdresser once said to me that some people go grey from stress....just like some people lose heaps of hair when they are stressed , I am one of those people,i've got enough hair to make myself a wig....hey that's a thought i could do that(get a wig made) then i wouldn't have to worry about colours i could just pull my wig out when i eventually go grey!!!
Also they say for every grey you pull out 10 will grow back so maybe you should stop pulling them out!!!!!!

Lea, if you don't look hard enough you can't see them and if you can't see them, you don't have them LOL!! Same with wrinkles. Therefore I have neither!!

Hey don't worry too much about it... it's normal and like someone said better to go grey than suffer female baldness. I started getting greys at about 20 too. I've read that it could be due to a copper deficiency as well. Maybe try taking a mineral supplement... but also check with your doctor incase at your next checkup... it would only be helpful if you had a deficiency... and mineral supplements can be bad for some people.

Lea...that's exactly what happens to me. My parents always used to comment about the amount of hair was on the bathroom floor after i had brushed my hair....or washed it, i always clogged the drains!!!!
I lose heaps of hair but i haven't got any greys so i must be stressed too.........just not as stressed as you Lea.

PMSL.....no need to be paranoid darl, even if you were it wouldn't matter you could just do a brazilian and we would be none the wiser......Not that we would be looking down there anyway.
