Deodorant reccommendations

I second Mitchem. I too have tried everything and nothing works as well as this one. You could also try lighty spraying or wiping your pits with white vinegar as it kills the bacteria living there. You do smell a bit vinegary at first but as soon as it dries the smell goes.

I have just bought Dove clinical (the new one advertised on TV) it was a bit expensive for a deodarant - $13.00 but so far I cant complain. Its has only been a week so I will let you know if its another cabbage one.

Arghh I find so many deos do not work for me! Only for the first few hours. The only one that really works is the lady speed stick orchard blossom!

It works really well! It does have a strong fragrence though, sort of an unusual one, like lollies?!

Boomba, the tea tree one sound interesting. Might have to give that a go, too.

Mayaness, I live in sunny Queensland which probably doesn't help with the perspiration. I never sweated as much as I have the last few years.Incidentally, since we moved up here. And I can't possibly drink anymore water.. I drink a minimum of 3-4 litres anyway... I'm not a fish!!!

Bathsheba, the MiEssence one sounds good. Will definitely order that next time I need some moisturiser etc. But will go unscented cause I don't want my dog mistaking me for a sausage.

. And as it's unscented, I wear perfume if I want to smell nice, so there's no scents/chemicals from the roll-on that are getting funky in my armpits.

So true. I often wonder about the smell ****tail that we all turn ourselves into. Everything is scented these days. Our soap, shampoo, conditioner, moisturisers, deos, hair sprays, washing powders, etc. And all different, too. Although i do like yummyy smelling things, I don't need to smell like all those things...

Kathryn, the Rexona range seems to be alright. Although I have not tried the hypoallergenic one.

Yeah i would say that it is better to try the other more gentle options first.
This tends to eliminate all 'sweating' for the first day or two and control for the rest of the week.
I am a particularly sweaty person (the type that would have to take a change of clothes or never lift their arms up due to the sweat patches) and now i can be more confident in most colours - even when lecturing for a whole day.

Its not an ideal solution - however is better than being smelly or damp all the time!

I get pretty sweaty myself and find I have to change what I get after awhile as just stop working. Over summer I tend to use Driclor to help keep on top of things. Surprisingly the Aldi antiperspirant is working quite well. I had no success with Mitcham, can't remember what one I grabbed though.

I've just started using the Rexona Clinical Protection... I'm about at my wits' end. So far, though, it appears to be working, if this keeps up it'll officially be the answer to my prayers!! I sweat like a bloke, even in the middle of winter (and I live in Central Queensland so it's around 30C for 48 weeks of the year!). It's hideous. Not to mention really unladylike! Other 'strong' antiperspirants work for a couple of hours, if that, then I just big wet patches under my arms as well as the stench of stale fragrance mixed with sweat. Ick.
I know it's probably full of chemicals and what not, but no way on Earth am I able to get away with crystal/natural deodorants - if this keeps working I'll keep forking out the $13 a pop for it, it's well worth it to finally be dry!

I use QV Naked anit-perspirant deo spray from the chemist and have found it to be great, doesnt irritate my skin at all, is fragrance free. You can get an aluminium free one too. I am not a sweater though so not sure how you would go with it.

Well, I was at the shops today and bought the Tea Tree one and the Mitchum unscented to try out. Will let you know how I go.
