Yep. I don't mind jeans with worn patches and frayed hems. But I don't wear ripped jeans because I like to be warm! I used to never, ever wear trackies out of the house but I have done it a handful of times in the past few years.

It never occurred to me before that someone else would call that "tatty" and make a negative judgement on me.
I wouldn't/don't judge someone else wearing tracky dacks or ripped jeans etc - just that I can't wear them myself. Doesn't make sense I'm sure, but I don't look at anyone else negatively, but feel that if I were wearing something like that then everybody would be looking at me and judging me. My own insecurities I guess.

I tend not to notice what others wear unless its something particularly gorgeous if that makes sense - not that the person is stunning, but what they are wearing looks really good ITMS

ETA: I do judge my DH because I know that he's just lazy in how he dresses, has decent clothes he could wear if he chose to, and that what he's wearing isn't supposed to be ripped - its just old and dingy
