The one I found which helps keep my hair nice and soft was te palmolive ones...
They weren't over the top expensive I think $5 .. I just went back to my even cheaper stuff and my hair has noticed a huge differnce already.. so next shopping trip back to palmolive..
steer clear of anything that has a fruit base, as this will aid in drying ur hair out.
there is heaps of good conditioners out there. But my best bet for u is to go grab urself a treatment. You can do it at home (buy the treatments from anywhere really.. um salons, some supermarkets) or you can pay to get it done at a salon. Your hair will thank you. Also if your hair is long, think about getting a couple of inches cut off.
I use the MOPS organic products and I swear by the conditioners.
I shampoo my hair once a week and after the shampoo I do a mask and then leave in conditioner. But I only do it once a week, the more you wash it, the dryer it will get.
I always find both Sunsilk and Garnia really good. But a tip is to only shampoo your roots (unless you really need to do the rest) as ive found shampoo can really dry out my hair and ends.
Thanks for the tips ladies.I didn`t know fruit based conditioner wasn`t good for your hair,I tend to buy what ever is on special at the super market, but I definately need mummy time to go to the hair dresser, lol,my hair is long and thick and it`s getting knotty sometimes,GRRRRRRRR.........I need a treatment badly. Thanks to all.
not saying a fruit based shampoo and cond isnt good for your hair. Im using one atm coz my hair has been really oily this past few weeks. Im just saying that if ur hair is dry its best them ones are avoided.
Why not go into a health food store and enquire there about their natural conditioners???. I use alchemy - $11.50 250mls, $25 for 500mls. You need the tiniest bit, size of a 10c piece.......
I personally would be steering clear of supermarket shampoos......look at the back of your dishwashing liquid ingredients, then look at the back of your shampoo ingredients....guarantee there aint much difference...ugh !
I'm using Biolage which you get from the salon. Sometimes I use miessence and sometimes Natures Instinct. I find the salon products and the organic products last heaps longer because you don't need as much so even though they are more expensive up front, they are cheaper in the long run.
I agree with mbear about the supermarket shampoos being pretty much the same as detergents!
I had the same problem after my DD2 was born, my hair was like fricasseed straw there for a while.
I found good old Pantene did the trick - at least until that post baby hair grew out (I have short hair so it was only a few months before my regular hair grew back in).
Hi there,
I'm a Hairdresser & my best advice for u is to firstly have a good trim to strengthen ur ends, have a conditoning treatment also. One of the best salon products to get is a brand called Kerestaste made by L'oreal Paris. The shampoo is called Bain Prevention that will stop ur hair loss & re-strengthen your own hair. The conditioners in this range are also very hydrating. It will set u back a bit, but it's worth it & it does work. It happens alot with ladies that have had newborns, the baby take all your nutrients & your hair & skin always feels it.
I have blonde, dry hair... I use Tigi Dumb Blonde. The shampoo is brilliant and the conditioner is amazing!
I have recently switched to Tigi Catwalk, honey & oatmeal... both are amazing also (they all smell good enough to eat!)
I agree with buying from a salon... It might be a little expensive at first, but it definitely lasts longer and the results are well worth it. I buy my shampoo & conditioner, and family shampoo & conditioner which is usually from the supermarket... DD uses my stuff (DH & DS1 don't care what they use)
I have blondish brown hair and I make up camomile tea, with a dash of lemon juice,in a about 1-1.5L of water then pour it over after I have shampooed (with elcheapo shampoo). Apple cider vinegar is also good to splash into the mix. Leave it in your hair and it leaves it lovely and soft (much nicer than traditional conditioner). Might tide you over til you can get some mummy time.
