Hair came out way too dark, what can i do?

The usual hair colour i used is discontinued, so tried one of the same brand that looked similar but it came out so dark my hair is almost black. I hate it. How soon can i either re-dye it lighter, or what about those streaking kits, if i could put through some lighter highlights it wouldn't look so bad.

Could you try washing it a few times to see if the colour lightens?

Hair colour always looks darker in the beginning but it might fade if you wash it a few more times.

Is it a permanent colour or semi permanent? If it's a semi, wash it repeatedly with anti dandruff shampoo and it will strip some of the colour out and fade it. Use this every day if you can, or every other day, until you're happy with the colour.

Not sure about permanent colour because I've never used it.

Anothe trick is to put warm olive oil in it and leave for 1 hour and it should pull some colour out. Also you can wash with bicarb and antidandruff shampoo.

This colour is a permanent and will not budge!!! I have used bicarb, dandruff shampoo every night and nothing, still pitch black.

I've relented and booked in for a full head of foils on saturday, my only option to get some light through it, will probably take several times to get through the darkness.
