i second Charlie and Me. Both my DDs are tall too. at 4yr10mths DD1 is in sizes 6-7 and DD2 (2yr9mths) is in sizes 4-5 )depending on the brand. i find Charlie and Me are quite generous in their sizing so i know they'll get good wear out of their sizes 4-5 6 and 7's
I had another idea, have you tried the miss shop(myer) free fushion(target) type places? DD had some clothes passed down to her that where from those places and seemed to fit pretty well, might be worth a look?
I have the same problem for my girls - not that they are overly tall, but I'd rather my 11 and 9yo daughters didn't have their 'bottom biscuits' hanging out for the world too see, plus the shorts on offer for girls these days just aren't protective enough. I gave up looking for girls clothes and brought boys shorts for them. The last few seasons pastels and bright coloured denim have been in fashion for boys so I've brought some of those and just plain navy drill shorts from big w for around home. Maybe you can buy a plain navy pair of drill shorts and then sew some funky fabric patches on them to brighten them up for her?
