Yes, PZ, curly hair is very nooiiice (and quite different and unuuuuushual), unlike my not straight-not curly mop of frizz!

Even though right this second I'm sitting here in trackies (but I have a clean Tshirt on!) I started this sort of thing a while ago. I was sick of feeling frumpy and awful. I went back to the gym (I realise not a desire of everyone, but something I enjoy) to do something for myself.

One thing that really makes a difference to me is having my clothes ready to go the night before. While that might not mean layed out, just washed and ironed and thought about is enough. Then as soon as I get up, I get dressed/showered and ready to go for the day. That staves off the PJ days for me.

In regards to the 'but I'm not going anywhere', throw it out of your thoughts. I get dressed for me, not to up anyone else's opinion of me, but because I like the way it makes me feel. So that I don't slink past any mirrors. So that I don't suffer insecurity and inferiority when I go out because I'm comparing myself to other people. Because, as vain as it is, I like it when my husband comes home and says 'gee you look nice today!'

    Morning all MILFs!
How are we today, still going strong I hope???

First of all Tuesdays Child how are the legs?? done or on the agenda for today?

Well I am showered and smooth. I have two eyebrows again and im moisturised. Hair is in a side pony today and fringe is straightened again. Different scarf today and a new pair of earrings and I might even put on some mascara. (live on the edge hahahahha)

I actually looked forward to getting out of bed today, and I usually do the kids and everything else first before myself so this morning I got up and jumped straight in the shower and I must admit I feel good for it.

Ok so today I am going to get a hair dye to do tonight once the kids are in bed and DH is at work. I want to get some body butter because these legs are resembling old sun damaged leather at the moment.

    Oh and drink more water.

Hope we are all having a great morning and keep up the great work!

FM - that is a good point about jumping straight into the shower - I tend to get up and sloth around and some days skip the shower until later in the day because I am then running so late. Might start that too!!

aaah I have to have to reply to this! Currently in my PJ's, hair is feral, ugg boots... hmmm need this much?

Caught myself the other week at the shops. Trackies which LITERALLY had a bum down to my knees. Old maternity top on (a) not PG, b) have lost 10kg and big daggy old hoody over the top. SO not a good look. I looked like the wild woman who'd crawled out of the woods! Even hubby (who always professes not to care what I wear - what's with that?) admitted I could look better.

So am about to shower, do hair (shock!), some make-up (wow!). Earrings will have to wait as DD would pull 'em out... but might manage a scarf too.

Have been thinking about what I want my wardrobe to look like. Everything I have in my current size is old corporate wardrobe & really not suitable to my life now. I'd really like to reinvent my look... I'm thinking modern, simple, casual & funky. I bought some flat comfy casual shoes the other day, look nice with jeans (I'm really not keen to be a heels & jeans person at this stage - not practical)... but next I need more than the 1 pair of jeans that fit, and some tops. I have a more kg's to lose then it's shopping time!! I CANNOT WAIT. I want to shop SO bad.

    Ok gotta go get gorgeous.

I didn't get them done . I fell asleep with DD at 7:30 last night. But it worked out well. I was actually ready to get out of bed at 6am this morning and 10.5 hours sleep has done wonders for my puffy eyes with bags under them. Will get to the legs after work this arvo!

I hired a stylist to teach me how to shop properly for my lifestyle, colorings and body shape. Now that was a massive treat - but I deserved it!
Fantastic idea! I'm terrible for buying clothes that I like and they look good in the shop but then I never wear them or like them once I get home. I'll be turning 30 when this bub will be around 6 months old. Perfect timing for a birthday treat I think. Will have to get the name of the stylist you used.

I remember reading once that Bec Hewitt said just put lipstick on in the morning and you will feel better all day. Man... Unless they make a lipstick that washes your hair, shaves your legs and removes the bags from under your eyes... I may need a little more!!!
    Ditto!

Legs done, hair washed so it was squeaky clean, blow dried and straightened (even put a treatment in to protect it from straightening). Today I'm going grocery shopping. Put on some jeans, a new jumper, earrings and a necklace.

On the one occasion I wore my trackies out of the house, I was busted by someone I hadn't see in a few years, but have known since I was three. I was mortified. I've never done it again

    Have a nice day lovelies

Tuesdays Child - Her name was Tamara Nicole - she's the Rundle Mall stylist. She was fabulous. I came back with notes for reference in addition to the clothes. She is $70 per hour (with a 3 hr minimum) which is the same as the Westfield Stylists and most other free lancers. I spent just under $1K on the day - including her fee, and came back with about 50 different outfit combinations (and my style being 'classic, natural and feminine' saw me spending those $$$ in Country Road, Jacqui E and Esprit). I highly recommend her !

We just got a more generous tax return than expected....I'm going shopping! Though nothing too drastic since I'm trying to lose a substantial amount of weight, but I need clothes! I will throw out the daggy maternity stuff I still have and get some cheap, but nice stuff, and some funky new boots!

I'm in! My legs have been neglected for a long time.... I think they are hairier than DH's .

I turn up to work most mornings looking like I've been dragged through a hedge backwards (this morning I'm sporting a lovely splodge of breakfast - courtesy of my LO - down my leg).

At this rate I seriously couldn't consider summer and swimmers as I think I need some heavy duty waxing - wonder what it looks like under all that fuzz???

This weekend I'm going to go through my wardrobe and do some chucking out!

Thanks Stacey - I needed this!!!!

ps: I did buy myself a silver cross dazzle and must admit that although I was wearing my holey old grey trackies at Coles last Sunday I still felt I was channelling my inner-celeb! Brahahahahaha!!!!!

maybe i'm the only one, but i find the actual term "MILF" - really offensive.

i would like to take care with my appearance (if only i knew what to do), i'd like a special someone to desire me, but if i got dressed up, and was referred to as a MILF, i would be so upset.

I bought a hair straightener late last year, so i could straighten my hair and look presentable when i'm out in public with my DD, i don't want her to be ashamed of me, straight hair doesn't suit everyone, i don't think it suits me, and i can't work out anything else to do with my hair, not that i think i used the straightener correctly anyhow.

Despite buying heaps of anti-frizz treatments, i can't keep the flyaways under control. It was so easy when i was younger, i just washed and dried my hair, after brushing, i had gorgeous waves, NOW i understand the phrase "your crowning glory", cos up to a few years ago, i had that. Now it's gone, i need to work at it, after decades of never needing to use a hairdrier to style my hair, i have no clue what to do. Even after "making an effort", don't end up with a good look. My confidence is gone, and i'm sick of buying products blind.

it would be so nice to be able to trade my maternity bras in, for non-maternity bras (i've been wearing them since Autumn 2006). i can opshop clothing, but not underwear.

Oh Hugh Gigi- we need to help you with some confidence girlfriend!
WRT the hair straightener and using it correctly- can you have a look on you tube for some videos demonstrating what to do?
Are you near a hair house warehouse? They can show you how to use the straightener to do all sorts of fab things- just pretend you're buying something :-)
For frizz- I use 2 products... Both names escape me now :-(
I'll have a look and get back to you....

If straight hair doesn't suit you- can you wear hair accessories? Or you other products to make your hair behave?
