I have two on my belly on opposite side and was planning on getting them fixed up but decided against it as I was worried about stretching during pregnancy but it has not been an issue at all.

I have one on my inner left ankle, one on the under side of my left wrist and a nice piece on my lower back that kind of comes down a bit over the top of my crack (this one is my fav)

I was planning on getting a butterfly done at the nape of my neck with Nikita's name underneath but DH doesn't like that idea. I will eventually have it done but may pop it lower between my shoulder blades or some where a bit more inconspicuous.

FWIW - my mum totally freaked out when I had my wrist done for the same reason your hubby mentioned and TBH it has never been an issue and I have worked in a couple of customer service jobs since having it done.

I guess the thing to consider is that you do not know where a job might take you. I can cover my wrist tattoo with a watch and bracelets but if you happen to get one done on your neck sometimes even clothes cannot cover it.

No, the wrist is okay as far as tattoos go The only thing I noticed that was unique to my wrists was that they bled a bit more than other parts of my body. But the pain was about the same as anywhere else, and the healing was quite quick. Good luck!

    - right wrist
    - top of right foot
    - right ankle
    - a big one on the top of my back
    - chinese symbols down my spine

i think down the spine is good, because no one will see it unless you show them

I have one on my thigh("I believe in love surviving death into eternity"), and one on my wrist (Two overlapping envelopes sealed with love hearts)

I seriously regret the envelopes, it's such an ugly design in such a high-visibility spot! The tattoo parlour were having a $50 special on that day. I went in with a few designs of my own and they said it was only from a small selection they had... So stupid me picked a design. I had no idea where I wanted it (since I still wanted my other designs in the spots I'd picked for them!) and managed to get myself talked into getting it on my wrist. Regretted it the second the needles hit my skin.

On the other hand, I loooove my thigh one! I really wish I hadn't just looked for the least painful bit of my body to put it on. I want it huuuuge, dammit! It was my first, so I was terrified of the pain - which turned out to be so bloody managable!

When Smudge is a couple years old, I'm getting his/her name in DH's handwriting somewhere (most likely over my heart), and my brothers' names on my back (because they've always "had my back")

Well, didn't I mess up where I was getting my next tattoos? I'm quite happy that I got Ianto's memorial tatt on my back - it's easy for other people to see, but also easily covered up. Since it's so big and colourful, I can see it easily if I look in a mirror, or even just a reflection in a window. I can even see a little of it if I crane my neck around! Love it!

The only problem I can see is, am I going to get something similar for future kids? Will they feel ripped off that their older brother got such a massive colourful one and they're resigned to small ones in harder-to-see areas? I hope not...

I'm still planning to get my brothers' and parents' names on my back, down my left side now (originally I wanted that on my right) and maybe one day, Scott's name. Maybe on a "big" anniversary, like our 25th or something...

On a side note, I just almost signed off this post like I would a blog *redface* I need sleep...

I added to Ds' name on my back. It now has all my DD's names underneath it surrounded by stars and last week I went and got a swallow tattooed on my ribs on the right hand side

All wrist tattoos bleed more than other areas. Mine is less than two years old and it has bled too. I have my kids' initials in a decorative font. Eventually they'll just look like big blobs

Matryoshka - did you end up getting yours? It sounds awesome!

    Re: Where is your tattoo?

Sadly it's true about them looking like big blue blobs eventually. My crucifix between my boobies is about 20 years old now and the fine details are blurring away already

I'm actually considering doing a cover up on my wrist of something with a lot less detail and getting a new tattoo with my children's names etc. I have a while to think about it because I'm feeding my boys and DS2 is only 8 months old.
