Hi everyone
Just wondering if anyone had a good bolognaise recipe for the slowcooker?
I've got a yummy recipe for one I make on the stove top which I let simmer for a few hours, could I just put that into the slow cooker recipe? or do I need to adjust liquid quantities?
It would depend how long you want to cook it in the slow cooker for as to the quantity of liquid but generally I would reduce it.
Use the same recipe. It will come out a bit more flavoursome so you could possibly reduce the quantity of some of the herbs or spices just slightly.
One thing I found though with bolognese sauce done it the slow cooker the mince goes very fine almost powdery. DH does not like it done in the slow cooker whereas I dont mind it.
Give it a go though and if you dont like it, dont do it again.
i would say cut down a little on the liquid so that it doesn't end up watery (stove top recipes release steam - this moisture would get trapped in the cooker) - apart from that, most stove top recipes should work fine...
maybe, if it seems watery, only partially cook the pasta then throw it into the cooker and let it finish in there, absorbing the extra moisture (we've done this and it works fantastically)
