yes, it should work, but I wouldn't use anywhere near that much water. I would try 1 1/2 cups of water and check it after 2 hours or so - the chicken and vegies will release a lot of water while they cook and you don't want to end up with a soup rather than a stew.

    Hi Ladies,
I am very tempted to make a lasagne in the SC, but I'm concerned that the cheeses etc will go funny and separate out when cooking over such a long period. :S There are several recipes that I have found, but I'm nervous to try them considering I have had a disaster before with dairy in the SC separating. Has anyone tried the lasagne option and how did it go?
    Thanks

OOO I loved making lasagna in the slow cooker....the cheese stays fine, I dunno which recipe you are going to try though.
It taste so lovely and real old style home cooked lasagna when in the slow cooker....I found if you semi puree your mince and add more pasta sheets the better it is too, especially with a bechamel sauce in the middle and on top.
While cooking if you watch it there is a layer of oil that builds up but its all good and when you turn off and let it sit/cool for a few mins it is YUMMO.
    HTH
    Good Luck.

    Thanks Mumzy,
Which recipe do you use? I'd prefer to use one that I know works Rather than experiment with a few that flop.
    Thanks

Hi all! I bought myself a SC this week & I'm SO excited!!! I have cut & pasted lots of recipes from the sticky thread - now just need to try them out! I went shopping today & bought lots of different cuts of meat, even lamb shanks - yum! I've never cooked those myself. So I will be hanging out in here lots & getting ideas & probably asking lots of Qs!

Waahhhh!! Went to cook the lamb shanks this morning & they're off! I'm so cranky. So it's vegetarian for us tonight.

Hi all - does anyone have a recipe for xmas pudding in the slow cooker? Like your traditional type boiled or steamed pudding, except done in the SC. I will do a net search but just though I would check in with this thread.

OOPSY sorry Kimi...I don't check back in there(the SC thread) often as I should coz it usually doesn't have anything to do with me.

To answer your question I can't even remember now which recipe I used. I think I kinda made up my own from looking at the others by making everything ready for my usual lasagna (with 500g beef mince a jar or two of tomato pasta sauce onion garlic italian herbs etc, bechamel sauce, cheese, dried pasta sheets broken to fit in SC)but putting it into the slowcooker instead for about 6-8 hours on low and it turned out yummy.

Hope that doesn't confuse you too much.
Hmm maybe next time I do it I should write down what I did and post it

Thanks for that, I think I will do the recipe you have posted - not too complicated for me! Wow I would love to taste one of those puddings from the last link! Pudding perfection!

Now to get a pudding bowl and I should be good to go lol
