Icing mixture has a small amount of corn flour in it. Confectioners sugar is actually the same as Icing MIXTURE. You can gererally use either in every day cooking or icing cakes. It is only usually a MUST to using Pure Icing SUGAR when making, rolling out or modelling fondant. They say Icing Sugar is best for Royal Icing also, but we've used Icing Mixture in the past and its done the same job.

You can buy Pure Icing Sugar at coles or woolies or any supermarkets. It comes in a Purple plastic packet.

For your recipe, you could really use either, with no issues.
