    Looking for a Banana Cake Recipe

    I feel like making a Banana Cake, do any of you have one that you`d like to share.

    Bugga Dee. I have just come to mums and I printed off one the other day that was really Yummy !!!

    I know for sure it was

    150g of butter
    3 ripe bananas mashed
    tspn of vanilla essence
    half tspn of bicarbonate soda
    1 1/2 cups of self rasing flour
    2 eggs
    and I think 2 tablespoons of milk

    just not sure on the sugar content I think it was 3/4 of a cup. I will ring Andrew in 20mins he has just left mums and get him to email it to me

    Here it is

    150g butter
    3/4 cup sugar
    2 eggs
    3 very riped bananas mashed together with 1 teaspoon of vanilla essence
    1 1/2 cups SR Flour sifed with 1/2 teaspoon of bicarb soda
    2 tablespoon milk

    Beat butter and sugar together. Add eggs gradually then bananas. Fold in sifted ingredients and milk.
    Place in greased tin and bake in moderate oven for 35 mins.

    Wait 10 mins before turning out onto a dish. When cool ice with Cream Cheese Icing if you prefer.

    60g butter
    60g cream cheese
    1/2 teaspoon vanilla essence
    120g icing sugar.

    Thank you Kathryn, think I`ll wait a day or two for the bananas to ripen up that little bit more then make this yummy recipe.

    Oh forgot to add. Even though it doesn't say too I also threw some walnuts into the mix, cause I love walnuts in banana cake. Yummy.

    Kathryn - DD and I just made your banana cake recipe today...yummmm!

    Dh was thrilled and hopes I buy too many bananas again next time so I have an excuse to make cake. I didn't have any cream cheese but the cake was perfect even without icing,

    Glad you liked it Ali. I did have cream cheese in the fridge, but couldn't be bothered with the icing either
