    Does shift work effect fertility?

    Hello everyone!
just wondering if anyone knows if shift work can effect fertility? and does any one know any good links that can prove this - Im a shift worker and need some facts on this to support my fight to have less night shift, and to be able to work in a less stressful deptartment at work.

    Thanks for your help

Not sure about the fertility per se but it does hamper the opportunity to DTD DH and I had to be very creative with rostering to ensure we were at least in the house together at the same time during our fertile times.

I know what you mean - i hardly have time to see my DH so its not going to be easy TTC this time round - and when they put me back on night shifts its going to be even harder!

shift work does mess with your circadian rhythm and also your hormone levels...so I would expect that it would not be helpful for fertility
