    Experiences conceiving after chem preg

    Hi all

Last month after a couple of months TTC we finally got our BFP only to find out a few days later that it was a chemical pregnancy. I was wondering what experiences others had ttc after a chem preg. Is it possible to conceive the next month ( I am currently waiting for AF and its a couple days late) and if I did conceive the next month would there be a higher chance of another chem pregnancy?? How many month did it take till the next BFP? Also was AF late the next month after a chem preg?? Iv promised DH that i will wait till my period is a week late before testing so I still have a week to go.

Thanks in advance for your replies.

Isabel hi and welcome to BellyBelly. I'm sorry you're going through a difficult time in your TTC journey. I haven't experienced a chem pregnancy, but I know a lot of women on these boards have. I'm sure they'll pop in to answer your questions. I wish you all the best.

Isabel Welcome to BB. Sorry to here of you loss it can be a difficult time when you have something you want for such a short time. I have had 2 early losses or chemical pregnancies to say. Each time my period was about 1-2 weeks late the following cycle. It took 3 cycles to concieve after the first and again 3 cycles to concieve this pregnancy after the 2nd. We were actively ttc each cycle

There are some ladies here who have conceived and gone on to have beautiful babies straight away. IMO when your body is ready it will happen - i wish you the best of luck and hope that it's not too far away xo

    Hi Isabel,

I'm sorry you've just had to experience an early loss it's so upsetting. I was about 4.3wks pregnant)

I had my early m/c (chem pregnancy) in early November and my AF came straight after and was just very heavy and about 6 days long instead of 4 days. We started ttc the next cycle (dr said was fine) as we didn't want to wait.... and we are still ttc nearly 5mths on.... hoping it happens soon
Some women fall pregnant straight after, some takes 2cycles, or 3 cycles, others can take months.... and not necessarily because of the early m/c... sometimes it just takes women that bit longer to achieve a healthy, sustainable pregnancy.

I hope it doesn't take you too long and you get your BFP very soon

Thanks Hoody for sharing your experience, makes me hopefull that this month will be the month!
Pbstar Im sorry about what you are going thru at the moment. I found it hard as I didn't feel like anyone really got it. I think you need to go through it to understand how heartbreaking it is.
Renstar here is hoping we both get our BFP very soon!
MrsB26 and mistyfying thank you for making me feel welcome! I have been lurking for awhile!

    hey isabel

yeah you definitely have to go through it to understand. i have people in my life who have experienced miscarriage before i did and i cringe when i think about how insensitive i used to be- but it makes me realise that until you know what it is like yourself you really have no way of relating to the feelings that go with it.

well i hope this is the month for you, sending lots of :goodluck2: your way

Hi. Sorry To Hear About Your Loss.
I Too Am Going Through A M/c At The Moment. I Was About 5 And Half Weeks When It Started. I Have Now Been Bleeding Since Sunday Night. How Do You Know If It Is A Chemical Pg?? I Had Never Heard Of It Before I Joined This.
My Doctor Told Me It Would Be Fine To Start Trying Straight Away So If You Are Then It Should Be Fine.
    Fingers Crossed For You.

I've had 3 early losses all around 5 weeks. With the first one I didn't conceive again in that relationship so we wont go there (it had taken me 3 years to conceive that one). With my current relationship the first pregnancy took 9 months to achieve, the loss occurred then AF arrived at around the usual time. It took around 4 months to conceive again, the loss occurred, AF arrived at around the usual time again. I got lucky again 3 cycles later and this one has stuck. Best of luck.

I for one hate the term "chemical pregnancy" I always felt like it sounded like I only thought I was pregnant!!!

I had 3 early miscarriages. I was so surprised as I thought it couldn't wouldn't happen to me. I had two trouble free easy pregnacies before and was quite shocked. The first was just after Christmas 2006 at 5 weeks 4 days. I conceived immediately again. And m/c again at 5 weeks 2 days. Then took a little break from TTC. in July pregnant again, m/c again 4 weeks 2 days.

The good news pregnant again. No problems. No bleeding. But those first few weeks I was walking on egg shells constantly checking. It wasn't until I made it to 7 weeks and an u/s showed a heartbeat that I thought "I am having a baby" Now that I am 33 weeks I rarely even worry about it. There was no reason they could find for my m/c's and it was sad and frustrating but am Happy to be through the woods.
