Krystie- Bummer about still having the hcg and the Dr not getting a quantatitve test, lol, what a nob. But like you said, hopefully it doesn't take too long to get back to 0!!!!

Flowerchild - thanks so much, I read the link you provided. Not sure where to go from here, I hope you can help. I said to my doctor last time I saw her that I think I have been pregnant two more times over the past 6 months and I'm scared my body is rejecting them. I just kinda feel like that is happening, I really felt a baby's presence and then my period would come when due but really, really heavy, when I usually have a fairly light period which I have had the other 4 months. I have a highly strong ANA and had glandular fever shockingly when I was 6, I missed half a year of school. I have had intermittent bouts of being quite sick but it really stepped up a notch after having one of my kidneys removed when I developed chronic fatigue. No other antibodies have shown up, though I do have a lot of the lupus symptoms, including butterfly rash over nose which comes up as though its an allergic reaction - two rheumatologists have diagnosed me chronic fatigue/fibromyalgia overlap. My cousin has severe rheumatoid arthritis so there is definately family history of autoimmune. Do you think I should start taking aspirin to see if that helps? Interestly, when I fell pregnant with Aiden my Nephrologist prescribed one aspirin per day from about 6 weeks which I had to stick to throughout the pregnancy. Wonder if that's why it all went normal? I dont really mention this stuff to doctors anymore, sick of doing a million tests and nothing showing up - then getting treated like I'm insane. I just manage myself through exercise and good diet. Even if I eat a little badly for only a while and put on only 2 or 3 kilos, I get sick. Do you know anyone who can help?

Jodsan - I just read your post and thought I would let you know that I am currently seeing a great ob who specialises in women you have had previous losses and/or medical conditions. His name is Mark Umstad and I was recommended to him by another BBer, after I said I wanted to change obs. I met his pre-pregnancy and he ordered any tests that had not already been done (which was a lot) and made sure we covered everything. My last ob thought it unnecessary to do tests as I had only had 1 loss - but Mark is far more pro-active. He is also a kind, understand man who is incredibly experienced and competent. He works out of Frances Perry House and you would need to book in to see him pre-preg I think to guarantee his availability. He likes to do pre-pregnancy appointments to do all the tests.

I am not sure if you are looking for a different dr, but I thought I would mention him. He always tells me that none of my questions are stupid (when in fact a great many are!) and always answers them honestly. I would feel completely comfortable calling him if I had any small concern as I know he understands my anxiety.

PLC - I was thinking of you yesterday and am soooooo happy you have reached this important milestone.

Acria - I am interested in the whole "O" pain thing, too. I had never had it before my first loss last September at age 37. Since then I have been getting it for maybe 4 or 5 days around O. I looked on other forums and it seems it can come days before, during or even a day after O.

Vanaithi - My first period arrived on time, but was not normal for me. 2 days fresh medium bleeding (sorry tmi). I spotted fresh on Day 7 a few hours later after BD, but put it down to that. Then I spotted on Day 9. I told my GP about this. She said the spotting on day 9 was not normal. I understand the first can be very heavy or very light. I am keen to see what my AF arriving approx next Monday will be like. Hoping it is a boringly normal 4-5 day effort.

Jodsan - thanks SO MUCH for your msg explaining ANA. I do not know if I am mean't to reply to the msg here or in some other way - a bit new to this forum business. I read your reply to flowerchild with great interest. I also was tested for the anticardioplan (spelling?) antibodies and they came up negative. Is this the other testing you were referring to? My folate was nice and high so it is not the homocystine thingo. I have read some women have an MTHFR issue - don't know if that is related to ANA, but apparently common for MC - but my GP had not heard of it. I am seeing an FS in a couple of weeks and would love to be armed with some intelligent questions (so would love to learn more from you). I looked up Lupus yesterday and, while I do not have the sore joints, I do continue to be very vulnerable to bouts of fatigue. That is probably the only thing I could find in common with the lupus.

Flowerchild - forgive my naivity, but is the test for NK cells something separate to request? I did look up the link - excellent reading, thank you.

ME - a bit in the doldrums. Have to change the age on my signature tomorrow. 38 seems to be a bit of a landmark figure when you read about egg quality and that damned downward hill. But am doing my very best to make sure my machinery is in the best possible working order for my next PG. Did a POAS today at only 9dpo. Did not want to get a BFN on my birthday. Surprise: BFN. Too early anyways...

Thanks Katie, I will keep him in mind. I have made an appointment to see a naturopath on Friday who specialises in fertility. I figure I will try to cleanse and address everything through diet and herbs, etc first. Then if nothing in a few months I might have to go and have some tests so I will definately keep his name.

PLC - congratulations everything went well with the scan!! Really happy for you! How are you feeling, any ms yet? As soon as I get some money I will definatley book in to see your acupuncturist, an extra box I can tick!

Issy - Good luck catching the eggy! Hope the TWW flies by and brings good news.

Where There's Hope - Happy birthday for tomorrow, I probably wont get a chance to come on. With lupus they normally test for a whole heap of other antibodies, there are so many similar disorders such as mixed connective tissue, etc and they all have a specific antibody which tells the dr which one it is. Fatigue is usually the first symptom of all of them, BUT it is also a symptom of just about any other chronic illness we get. If your AntiC was negative, then I dont think you have anything to worry about as far as affecting fertility cos the ANA level is so low. But if you do get sick again, ask them to test your ANA and other antibodies to see if there is any activity which is causing the fatigue.

Flowerchild - I went and bought some aspro clear anyway, if I do fall again in the next couple of months they are going to put me on it anyway so I figured it cant hurt.

Hi SaraJane - what are you studying? You must be so excited to almost be finished.

Megsmum - Hope your arm is ok!

Vanaithi - Sorry about AF, she sucks! With me AF just went back to normal after MC, same length, etc.

Its been a bloody hard journey for all of us. I will still be updating my website and hoping that it continues to help the next person who has to go through what we have been through. While reading your posts I ve thought about the last 5 months.... boy it seems longer than that. The PAIN we have all been through and moved through ONE DAY AT A TIME.... has been immense.

The first cycle was a bit odd with a bit of mid-cycle bleeding and spotting almost the whole time, but not surprising - guess everything just had to adjust.

plc - SO glad to hear how well your scan went - I bet your still sitting their smiling about it all!

jen - hello!! hope the 2ww is treating you kindly. How long till testing?

afm - just watching a show on foxtel about a couple that had quintuplets (eek!) after a round of clomid... from one extreme to another!

I'll also be updating my age on my sig on saturday - there's a lot of May bdays in this thread isn't there?! Really looking forward to it - dh is taking me and ds out to breakfast where we got married (a restaurant on brisbane river), then having all of our good friends over for drinks and yummy food in the afternoon... aaahh

I checked my CP and C doesn't feel as hard and the mucous was a little stained with brown. I'm trying to think positive but it isn't looking good. Had BT today so will speak to ob tomorrow. :pray: everything is going to be ok but I have a bad feeling about things atm.

We can put ourselves into a very stressful position based on what our mind keeps telling us. You can end up making yourself ill with all the thoughts you run through your head. Do the absolute best you can girl to chill a bit... Nice warm shower.... lay down on the bed and listen to some relaxing music..... meditate if its something you know how to do..... relax girlfriend.... get through tonight and ring your doctor for the results and talk to him/her tomorrow...... but for tonight..... do your best to chill.... remember this journey is ONE DAY AT A TIME.... we get through today.... then we get through tomorrow.............

Betty - glad your feeling better and out of hospital - it's always one thing after the other isn't it?

I had better get back into it, i've still got stuff everywhere and the kids are back in this morning, I didn't realise how much stuff we had, i've got shopping bags eveywhere with linen and other stuff in, every morning i've been putting them in my bedroom out of the way and back out in the loungeroom of a night time, today i have to make sure that i put everything away before the kids come in. The new room looks great, it's about 5 metres long and about 6 wide. Looks huge (or will until we fill it with furniture.)

AJC - honey - i am doing some serious :pray: for you. people do have spotting in early pg and from what i understand as long as it is not a bright colour it should be ok. hope the bt's come out ok sweet!!!

tina - that's so great u found the acupuncture appt ok. he did tell me to wait to but the advantage i had was that i had to wait after my lap anyway and that was around the time i was started seeing him. so i had a good 2 mths where i had to wait before i got the go ahead from my ob. a lot of the spleen and kidney work was fixed before i could try again which i think are the main concerns for TTC. now we are just slowly working on the liver without any herbs and i see him on a weekly basis for this - the liver is still important for this time too and he would have liked it to be ok too before i started to TTC but i told him i had already achieved so much and now that i could go for it, we were not going to hold back. Do what's right for you of course - obviously he just wants things to work perfectly for you but he can still help you if ur TTC just has to do it differently.

thx everyone for your wonderful wishes and congrats - I'm just so glad i got this far ok and the rest is up to the big guy upstairs. The previous m/c's ended around now even tho they were not picked up til later in the scans so just treating my chances of m/c like everyone else's and i feel like i can focus on how it was when i was pg with DS.

Girls you all have me in tears (started with angelbabies) - thank you so much for the support. No more spotting so far but still slight brown tinged CM. I know things still 'might' be ok but I think I know deep down in my heart that this little one is flying off to be with his/her brothers/sisters. Will update you all this evening, probably won't check at work because I'll end up in tears and I need to be strong.

AJC - Is this the time when your next AF would've been due? Apparently its fairly common to get breakthrough spotting at this time. As PLC said, it is normally brown in color which is old blood that your body needs to clear. I will be thinking of you today, try to stay relaxed and think positive (I know, easier said than done). :pray: it's all ok.

Bettyboop - So sorry to hear you have been unwell, one thing after another hey. But you did just have an operation which is always trying on your immune system. Try to do as much as you can to build up your immune system, drink green tea, have loads and loads of garlic (I put one chopped clove in boiling water with a quarter slice of lemon, let it sit for 10 mins then drink it), take echinacea and loads of fruit and loads of water to flush everything through. Hope you feel better soon.

AJC - I will say a prayer for you today. Please look after yourself and remain hopeful that all will be okay. I had some brown spotting early in this preg and I thought the worst, but it turned out to be nothing. My sister told me she has brown spotting with all her pregs (she has 4 children) and she always just thought it was the cervix closing and some old blood left over. So it may be nothing to worry about, and I have been told that brown blood is usually not a concern. So big hug and please let us know how your Ob visit goes. I am going to pray so hard for you today. :hug:

PLC - in case I haven't already a big congrats and I hope things go nice and smoothly for you. Try to enjoy the pregnancy, even though it is hard when we are all worriers! I have turned into a crazy lady!

AFM - well I'm trying not to read too much into it..only 4DPO..but my nipples hurt. I know it's too early really (little voice in my head says 'unless you ovulated earlier than you thought..'), but maybe..my body remembers what to do from last time, lol. The things we try to tell ourselves... But yes, nipple tenderness and tiredness were my biggest symptoms last time..so I'm just going to content myself that my nipples are sore..for some reason, and hope it's the reason I want!

I also have a little odd spot on my leg that has been there for months and I've almost convinced myself it's cancer..so off to the skin clinic I go -_-. More than likely a confused follicle from being waxed.

Well I feel like a drama queen atm anyway. Iam holding out ok so decided to log on.

Ok spoke to ob. hcg when BT was taken @ 4wk 3dy is 1024. I know it's not the actual level but the way it's doubling that matters. He's booked me in for a scan on 3 Jun, so hopefully spotting will stay away (none so far today) and we'll se a little hb.

Feel a little calmer but am now a mad woman checking my knickers every opportunity I can get. And I thought I was going to relax this time - tuh. Should have known better!

I just rang the skin clinic and I can't get an appointment with them until the end of June, and they only do full body skin checks, which are very good, but I had one done 8 months ago and was told I didn't need another one for a year, and it's really just this one spot I want checked. I have been having very weird pains in my uterus for about a week and its a bit uncomfortable. Its not like cramping, more like pinching or scraping. I have felt little pains like this and terrible AF pains (when AF is here) on and off ever since my D&C. Has anyones else's AF pains increased or otherwise since their m/c / D&C's?

Im thinkin I might go and visit my fs again, as he said to come back in April (a little over...oops) to see how things were going, and if not pg by this time, to start looking into IVF or other AC options. I also prob need to have another HSG test done to see if my left tube has 'unkinked' itself and is all clear. Its been about 6 months since I had the op to release it so it might have straightened out by now.

Anyway, thats all from me for now....still chipping away at this work...getting there, slowly, very slowly :doh:

ive definitely had wierd pains since the MC...wierd cramy things in my uterus too, that are definitely new! Aslo, AF was really really painful this time too, which is the same as it was before the pregnancy...uptill no its been really light (both flow and pain)..so im hoping this means that my body has fianlly gone back to normal?(6 months later!!)

Well 24hrs spot free now - woohoo. It was like brown mucous, yucky old brown mucous. Perhaps this bub is just going to be a fussy as his/her Mum and didn't want to share the womb with yucky mucous. Will sleep so much better tonight.

issy--I've had light cramping off and on ever since my m/c,--nothing too painful. My first cycle after was much heavier than usual, but then my last one was so light, it was barely more than spotting for 7 days (which is longer than normal AF for me, but hey, at least it was light the whole time!) Sorry, I know that's not much help! Probably a good idea to put a call in to FS, especially if you're overdue for a follow-up. Good luck, hun! :hug:

Hi all - only quick - AF showed while I was at work today though it was brown and there's plenty of EWCM there too... So I'm either having an early m/c and it's not showing, or AF has just decided to show herself really slowly.

I'm having a break from everything - I dunno when I'll be back on here - I'll probably sign on one more time to see what ladies say. This cycle has hit me alot harder than my last ones have been because I honestly believed that this cycle was the one, but it's not. I guess I won't be here for a long time, though I will try and pop on every now and then to see how people are. The only thing I will actually be posting in will be the AFL thread as I'm in the footy tipping there and I like to help the best I can.

Again, thankyou everyone for the support, I dunno what I'll do without you all. I love you all so very much. And, as I've already said, this cycle has just taken it out of me - the depression has hit me really really hard and I just can't handle it anymore. If anyone at all wants to talk to me, I'll always be on MSN or Yahoo, so feel free to pop me a line (and there's always my email address too!)

issy- don't know about pains but i just have weird feelings in my lower tummy, sometimes a slight pain but more just a slight discomfort ever since the m/c and d+c and my AF pains have increased too. are you feeling a bit better now emotionally? not long till o now...I just got some EWCM today so it's all happening!before we know it we'll be back in that dreaded TWW...

AJC- YAY for 24 hours spot free! i am sure it was just bub settling in and getting cosy for the next nine months.

AFM i am still feeling positive about things, feel like i will o in the next couple of days and hopefully with the B6 i'm taking i will have a longer luteal phase this month. i feel like i am finally getting through to DH that it is ok to admit we are TTC (he has this weird superstition where we have to pretend we aren't TTC then it will happen...)anyway yesterday after we BD'd he said "go little swimmers, go catch the egg!" it was really cute and totally out of character and still makes me giggle thinking about it...

No symptoms of anything...


Oh, LJ :hug: I'm so sorry! You sound so sad :( Sorry it's been such a tough cycle for you, maybe you're right in taking a little time off (hopefully not too long, cuz we'll miss you!).
