SPF - I have spent a lot of the past year wondering what I did and didn't do that may have contributed to my journey. Very helpful family members have also contributed their thoughts. My mum reckons that the cats have got to go and even just their presence is a risk. I have done a lot of research for literature on the risk of cats. The only link I can find so far is toxomoplasmosis, from faeces or from dirt affected with infected faeces. Mostly cats, but some dogs. Most people who have cats will have been exposed to the bacteria and have immunity. You can get a test for you, just a BT and you can get one for your cats, but the vet told me that it would only tell you if the cats had it previously, not if they had it now. Not sure I understand that. But I know lots of people who have cats who successfully carry a pregnancy to term and have a healthy baby, including my mother in law who had 7 the buggers. I don't change the litter. I wash my hands after I pat them or cuddle them. Cats aren't the only source of the bacteria but is the most common. Take care gorgeous.
