Megsmum - YAY for you honey!!! big congrats to you and ur darling. understand being scared, just take one day at a time (thx BBx). stay as long as you need hun but I'll be saving that spot for you in PAML.
mannie & toccara - !!!
maddiesmum - sorry honey
jen - i'll hang in the thread for as long as it takes hun - want to put a congrats note for you too.
Megsmum, Tocarra and Mannie - I am so over the moon for you all!!! Congratulations!!! Fingers crossed that all will be smooth sailing and in no time you'll be holding you little babies in your arms. Wow, it's so exciting isn't it?!
Jen, Plc (and Angel!) - Oh I miss you girls!!! I can't believe I forgot Friday chat again! I'm such a dufus. I wasn't even doing anything last night either. I can't even blame the tv, because there wasn't anything good on, lol. I swear I'll chat to you soon though!!!
To everyone else - I still check in on you all and my thoughts are with you. If ever you are feeling down, always know that there are people out there thinking of you
Megsmum - Congratulations! It's about time the thread had something to celebrate! I know it must also be an anxious time but at least it sounds like they will monitor you closely. Sending your way. This might sound a little selfish but I am glad you will stay in this thread a while longer, you have really helped me!
Mannie - wow, we can now all say congratulations officially! So happy for you hun. you have a sticky bub in there!
Indy - Definitely go and get checked out again. I m/c in Nov 2007 and we are still waiting. I wanted my GP to do tests 6 months ago but he insisted we wait 12 months to see a FS. Now I have just found out that I am not o every month! Pretty bummed we have wasted so much time.
Possums - Thanks, I saw an endo specialist just over 12 months ago and she put me on prednisilone. Funnily enough I feel pg just the month after I started taking the medication but no luck since
Maddies Mum - So sorry to see you have found yourself on this thread but it a great source of support and advice. The ladies here have helped me so much since I joined. I wish I had found them all sooner!
Hannah - Hang in there, not long to go now! Going to the toilet a lot sounds promising.....
WTH- Try not to lose hope!
AFM - Feeling heaps better today and more positive. I think I will feel better once I see the FS again and know for sure the next course of action. Trying to see it as a positive. Clomid seems to have quite a good success rate and if I already o sometimes I am hoping it will work for me!
Sorry, have to go. DH and I are going to the movies.
Megsmum YAYYYYYYY!!!!!!!!!! That is AWESOME news hun, wishing you the happiest, healthiest and stickiest nine months out!!!
Maddysmum - I am so sorry you had to come in here to join us but you are in the right place for loads of love and support to help you through this. As for your bleeding, my first m/c which was at 10 1/2 weeks and had a D&C for took a good two weeks before the bleeding stopped and my second which was a natural m/c at about 6 weeks, I bled for about 5 days. I think my dr said at the time, if I bled more than two weeks or had an accompanying fever, that something needed to be done. I hope it stops soon for you so that you can concentrate on the emotional side of recovering. .
Hannah - , hoping she stays away and you get a lovely BFP instead!!
WTH - wishing you heaps and heaps of luck for your BT Monday anyway, hoping you won't need to partake in an xmas baby-making BD marathon
Mannie - , wow BFP at 7dpo is AWESOME, hoping that you too have a h&h and sticky 9 months. So many BFP, its fantastic, bring them on!!!
Indy - sorry about the bfn, hope you can get a wonderful xmas pressie instead!
Mel - that really sucks not o-ing but I am glad that you are feeling more positive. Will your FS have you on clomid for your next cycle? Then you could have a lovely chrissie bfp too
Big HI to Jen, PLC, Hannah, Possums and the rest of you awesome girlies
Not a lot happening here, in a tww of sorts then it is all on for my xmas BFP!! I am currently at work on a Saturday night - how excviting is my life!!
Thanks for your kind words Melissal. Ur right - I can't wait for it to end so I can concentrate on dealing with the emotional side of recovery. I am just so thankful that I have a gorgeous little 2 year old daughter and a beuatiful understanding hubby (I love them both to bits). Hopefully we will look to TTC again in the new year.
Just a bit off the subject here - how do I get me one of those gorgeous avatars, and decorate my signature with hubby and my lil' Maddison. Also would like to track my cycle (once I am back on track) like at the bottom of your message.
Sorry for all the questions sweetie.
No I won't get to start on Clomid this month as I am going to FS a week after AF is due so I am guessing it will be too late to start in Dec (don't know alot about it). I would go back to him sooner but I am waiting on a couple of other test results (Lupus, ovarian resistance - don't think this is an issue since I didn't o this month!). I reckon the FS will want all the results before he decides what we do next.
Although I would love to start now DH and I think we have waited this long so we can wait another month. Decided have the month off and enjoy the festive season instead and when we want instead of when we have to!
Maddysmum - I bled for a couple of days after the m/c. Bit like a period but much heavier bleeding. I m/c at 6 weeks and didn't need to have a D&C. I think everyone is different but make sure you get checked out if you have prolonged bleeding, cramping or a fever. Sorry I can't help with the avatars question, I am still trying to work out this forum thing (bit sad considering DH works in IT!).
We put up our Christmas tree today (a little early I know). DH turned to me and said how he hopes we have a baby by next Christmas, it brings a tear to my eye. I that 2009 is the year for all of us.
Megsmum - WOW. What wonderful news, congratulations.
Maddysmum - Welcome. Sorry you have to join us, hope that your stay here is short and you can jump over to the PAML thread with our BFP'ers. To answer your question, to get an avatar, you need to be a paid member, not sure if you have to have "so many" posts before you do or if you can just pay. To get the bits at the bottom, go to user profile at the top and click on edit signature, you can add your information in there. There is a limit to how much info you can put in. Hope that helps and doesn't confuse you.
I just entered my temp for this morning into FF and my o day has changed from CD13 to CD22! I had a BT on CD 20 and was told from those results that I hadn't o'd this month. My question is, does anyone know if the BT would've picked this up on CD20 that I was about to ovulate or is this why the BT said I didn't? I am so confused.
I had really bad cramps and was very tender around my ovaries on CD21 and then apparently o'd the next day. Luckily we ended up on the right day although we didn't on any of the surrounding days. I guess it only takes one!
I usually o at around CD17 or 18 so it is very late for me but CD 13 was too early! Although I haven't had any CM this month which I usually do (sorry if TMI!).
Mannie & Megsmum - How are you both feeling today? Hope you're both still on cloud nine and are not too anxious.
Hi to everyone else! Sorry for lack of persies but I'm completely confused at the moment!
Have a baby shower to go to this afternoon *sigh*.
Just got back from Mass and was praying very hard for this bub to stick and be healthy and that I would be lucky enough to bring it to term. Its in God's hands now. Feeling ok today temps still up and feeling a bit off, but happy at the same time. Trying not to be too anxious. Have had a few crys but pg does bring on weepiness so its out of my control.
by the way we only did it once and it was on the morning of OD day and then we did it again the next day which I think wouldve been too late to catch the egg, so I believe we caught the egg on OD day...so for the record you right it only takes one!!! so goodluck and you may get your BFP before Xmas after all.....
HI to everyone else, we have a BBQ to attend today its so hot here and I'm not looking forward to standing around outside on a hot day in my condition...phew....I'm glad its only from 2 til 6pm! I'll be wanting a cold shower as soon as I get home!
Have a great sunday ladies....persies this week ....thanks for all your support too.
Thanks so much mollycat, melissal, Mel, plc, babymiracles! WIll be praying that you all (except plc of course LOL) get your much deserved BFPs soon!
Sorry for the lack of persies, I promise I will do some tomorrow while DD is at preschool, but I just wanted to answer your question Mel
If you think you Oed on day 22 then that is consistent with the blood results you got the other day. Do you know if they only tested progesterone? Did they also test oestrogen and LH? If they only tested prog then they would not have know you were about to ovulate, only the oestrogen and LH can tell them you are about to O. It is definitely possible too that they only checked your prog levels and nothing else. What you will need to do is have another BT on day 29 (7 DPO) to check your prog levels again - if they are above about 20 I think it is, then that will indicate that you did O on day 22. I have found that there are a lot of drs out there that assume than everyone O's around about day 14 And of course if you BDed around that time then you are in with a chance!!
Indeed it does only take one, remember I only got one egg at egg collection, then it fertilised and here we are now. I am a walking advertisement for not only what can go wrong with IVF ie low follie and egg numbers, but also what can go right with it!
Hope all that helps, ask away if you've got anymore questions and I'll try to help if I can
Have been quite slack and haven't been around for awhile have had a pretty nasty virus to contend wtih as well.
How awesome to come on and see 3 BFP's
Mannie, Toccarra and Megsmum I am sooooo happy for you - congratulations
Nothing much to report for me, my temps have been all over the palce this month so don't think I will even get a coverline although I believe I have Ov'ed, will just have to wait and see yet again
Just popping in to say hi - I have not forgotten about you
Indy - Sorry about the BFN. But I'm wishing you a very, very happy anniversary!
megsmum - I hope you do continue to hang around here. I know I want updates on how bubs is doing. Sounds like you're going to get great care though.
jen - *hugs*
krystie - Thanks for checking in on us. You're right, it is nice to know there are people out there thinking of us.
mel - Glad you're feeling more positive. the clomid works for you. Christmas is less than a month away, so its not too early to put it up. Good on you for deciding to just enjoy this Christmas (it may very well be the last with just you and DH ). I can't really help with your confusion, but bring it up when you see the FS.
melissa -
mannie - Enjoy the BBQ. Hope the heat didn't get too bad.
easha - Sending you lots of anti-AF vibes.
Hi to everyone else.
AFM - I caved and tested this morning. Got a big . At least its Sunday so I have a day to wallow and then back to work tomorrow.
Hannah - sorry about the BFN but you have tested a couple of days too early so there is still a chance. Wishing you a for Christmas!
Megsmum - Thanks so much for your response, it helped me a great deal. I am going to call the FS tomorrow and see what they tested for. I know they definitely tested for prog but not sure about the rest. I'm so glad you are hanging around in this thread, I can't wait to hear about the progress of your pregnancy. I am so excited for you!
Mannie - Know that we are all for you too. Hope you weren't too hot at the BBQ!
Melissal & Easha -
to jen, plc, buliej, babymiracles, WTH, krystielove, mollycat, indy & anyone else I have missed!
AFM - I found out from mum today that one of my cousins had to go on clomid to conceive and she now has 2 beautiful children. One of my aunties also went on it and she had triplets -lol! 12 months ago multiple births would've have freaked me out but now it wouldn't worry me in the slightest!
I know this sounds silly but I had really started to get used to the idea of going on clomid and now if it ends up I have ovulated no doubt we will just have to keep ttc until it happens. Although you never want anything to be wrong at the same time after 15 months ttc we really wanted some answers. I guess I will just have to wait and see when AF arrives, that will give me a better idea. FF has really confused me this last week!
I'm so glad I found you all on this thread, not only have you offered me comfort and support but you have all been a great source of advice and information (I didn't realise until I started this journey just how little I knew about ttc!)
I'm sitting here feeling odd because I think I'm ovulating - the timing would be right based on when my d&c was - and doing nothing about it because we've decided to give my body a month off. It feels so weird letting this potential opportunity go to waste - although I still think it's the right decision for us.
My guess is that I'll have 2 more AFs between now and our next IVF cycle - just based on holidays and guessing when my cycles will fall assuming they resume the same schedule as they were before my miscarriage. I'm wondering whether we should ask my FS about clomid or if there's something else we can do to give us assistance while we wait for the next IVF cycle to commence.
What is clomid suppose to do? what other things can we ask about during our "au natural" cycles that won't depend on the clinic being open?
Buliej - apologies for the long post!
I'm glad you are doing what feels right for you and your DH. Only you know when it is right to start ttc again.
I wish I could help you with the clomid question but I will be asking the same thing of my FS at our next appointment (just under 2 weeks away which seems like a lifetime.....).
From what I have read Clomid seems to have quite a good success rate with most people conceiving in the first 3 cycles. Some of the side effects aren't the greatest but let's face it everyone of us on this thread would put up with anything to have a healthy child! Clomid doesn't work for everyone but I think it is definitely worth a try.
Just something I found on the internet (this is all I know since I have no personal experience):
The active ingredient in clomifene is clomifene citrate, an anti-oestrogen drug which is taken in pill form. It works by causing an increase in the levels of two hormones which in turn cause stimulation of the ovaries and release of an egg.
First it tells your pituitary gland to produce or make more of the hormones that trigger ovulation (follicle-stimulating hormone or FSH). This prompts your ovaries to get a number of your eggs ready. Then, once you finish your drug cycle, your hypothalamus (the part of your brain that regulates basic functions, such as temperature) will release luteinising hormone (LH). This tells your ovaries it's time to release a mature egg from its follicle and send it into one of your fallopian tubes. That is ovulation.
When you start taking it in your cycle and the dosage varies form person to person but your FS works all that out. I would suggest googling Clomid and reading up on it a bit. Also I have found a few threads which discuss the pro's and con's and also the experiences of women who are taking it. I have found this very useful and would be keen to try it if that's what the FS recommends.
Sorry again for the long post - I hope it helps a little! I am completely confused at the moment as my o days this month are all over the place and I don't even know if I did ovulate.
Best of luck (we are having this month off too). I intend to sit back and enjoy the festive season with good food and wine!
