Vanaithi ? hi, to answer your question?your bbt sounds perfect for this time of your cycle. Around ov, your temp should dip, not rise though. This dip indicates ov and the rise in temp straight after indicated the switch from estrogen (for ov) to progesterone?I think.

AFM ? AF has left the building :dance:, was a short and light one this time?thank god. So here we go again. GL to everyone?.we had few ladies with bfps this month?.lets continue the trend girls....bring it on May/June!

hi everyone im just new to this so im not sure wot all the codes mean that i see written... i will tell u a little about me!
my name is lea im from brisbane, qld. im 29 years old n my partner is 28.. we had a miscarriage in november last year i was 5.6 days and found out wen i was 5.2 days.. i went to have a 2nd ultrasound 2 weeks after as i was only 5.2 n they said come back in 2 weeks to see the heartbeat.. i went back in 2 weeks n my heart broke as there was no heart beat as it had died:(.. i had a blighted ovum n still trying to work out exactly wot that is.. we hav been trying for the past almost 6 months and is getting harder as everyone i know is pregnant or just having a baby so i thought it was time i found a site so i can talk to people that can understand wot i am going through... i went to the dr's n now on a waiting list to see a specialist to see why its taking this long to fall again...

issy--SO glad to hear AF was short and sweet! Mine lasted for 7 days, but was light the entire time, could AF be growing a heart? Now it's back to the rollercoaster ride! Good luck for May!

Tina: Hello over in HK! I hope that you are having a great time, I absolutely loved my time there a few years ago. I dont know whether you saw my post a few days ago, but I wondered whether you have got your dates wrong and are testing early?? :goodluck: AF should be with me today, but I think that it is like 'a watched pot never boils' - I just need to stop thinking about her and she will arrive!

plc- Ohh, I am definately of the 'I'd rather get AF than a BFN' group. Maybe it is because I am loathe for the companies who make pee sticks to make a huge profit out of me!:lol: Also, until the month before last, I'd only ever seen a BFP when I had tested, and it was a huge let down when it didnt appear.:(

Smilinatu- I'm sorry to have left you off my last post. It must be because I am so tired and a bit dopey that I did not even read your post that said that you and your man are having troubles. :hug: I hope that things get better soon.

Jen- you made me giggle! I cant believe that 'chuffed to bits' hasnt made it over to California! It's funny how lingo varies between countries that all speak English. I'll be getting confused about it all when I go to NY and New England this summer (can't wait!)

Vanaithi- I have given up temping cos I kept forgetting at the weekends! I used to know a bit about it, but have forgotten most! The ff website should have a lot of info about temping. GL!

I'm not going to the gym tonight- I've given myself the night off to do housework (oh joy!), becuse it is in dire need of a huge clean up! Well, better go- the sooner I start, the sooner I finish!

Canary-- :lol: as soon as I heard the term, I thought of you and nickster! It's really funny because some of the terms you guys use can almost make me imagine that I can hear your accent through your words! (Does that make sense?) For instance: going to the loo, um, ok, that's all I can think of at the moment--oh! and bloody or buggers! :rofl: I love it! :) It is amazing, though, you're right--about the way the lingo varies between countries. It's all English, similar in some ways, yet very different in others! Have fun with the housework! I've got to do the same thing--boo! :rolleyes:

welcome Lea - hope your stay here is short and sweet, the ladies on this forum are the most helpful group, they have really been so supportive in a way most people can't.

My extension is coming along just great - the frame went up yesterday, the windows are in, and they started putting the weatherboards on the back of the house. Today the kids and I are going visiting because they are working on the roof, they have to pull off part of the existing roof and put a new roof over that section and the new section. Too dangerous and too noisy I think to stay home today.

Must go now, it's just light enough to start my outside jobs before work. I'm off to my parents house to hang my washing, I can't find my clothes line (it's surrounded by timber).

I'm feeling just a little bit down this morning, for no reason other than the fact that I've stopped taking St John's Wort, which I usually take 2 or 3 times a day to moderate my moods. I've read that it's not considered safe for use during pregnancy though, and I'm determined to do everything 'right' this time. I'v even stopped drinking my beloved Twining English Breakfast tea, due to keeping caffiene down. Hot milo is a lovely substitute during the colder months though, and I have some dilmah decaf tucked away for if things get desperate ;)

Waiting to see if my boss is organising a girls' night out tomorrow, if so, they'll want to know why I'm not drinking and they'll be the first ones to find out DH and I are TTC! We'll see what happens..

mollycat--Hope you have fun getting out with the kids! How many kids do you watch? My mom had a daycare in our home my whole life--literally from 1st grade-graduation. She finally quit when she moved away to Turkey when I was 18--actually that's not true, she even did d/c in Turkey! But I wasn't there, so that doesn't count! :lol: So because she had so many parents, I started babysitting at an early age--probably like 10 or 11. Most people brag when they've been working since they were 16, but they've got nothing on me! That's how I got my spending money--it was a great learning experience, but I would NEVER trust a kid here with my kids! It amazes me how many parents would go away for the whole weekend and leave their kids with me--a teenager! Anyhow, I don't know how you do it! If I learned anything through my experience, it's that I don't have the patience to be a daycare provider--my owns kids test my patience, I don't need someone else's kids pushing my buttons! The world needs more people like you taking care of their kids! :)


Acria--Sounds like you are determined to do everything possible to have a healthy, happy pregnancy! It just shows how dedicated you are to being a great mom! Have fun on your night out tomorrow!

I try to only have 1 - 2 cups of coffee or tea per week so for the rest of the time it's Milo. Have you tried the new malted one? - yummo!!!

Lea - Welcome to you also, I'm sorry to hear about your loss. My first m/c was a blighted ovum and I remember feeling sooo confused. I hope you have a healthy bubba in your arms very soon!!!

Jen - Geocaching sounds like heaps of fun. Glad your DH got back safely.

Canary - Good luck to you this cycle. With no af yet sounds very promising for you. Fingers crossed. afm, well Iam 11dpo and temp is still up which is a good thing because it dropped on 9dpo last month and I had af by 11dpo. i have been taking b6 supplement to hopefully extend my LP so am hoping that af won't come at all or if she insists waits until at least 14dpo. I don't really have any symptoms - like you I've been soooo tired but I've had alot on my plate lately so not really reading into it. Breasts have been tender and I've had really funny tastes in my mouth but again, not going to read into it. Will wait until 15dpo to test or earlier only if I have very strong symptoms. Good luck to you!!!

Vanaithi - your bbt sounds fine for the moment. My bbt usually stays high until around 1 - 2 days prior to af when it drops to a level usually around the cover line. Temping is a great way to keep track of your cycle.

tinak - Hope you are enjoying your holiday. Sorry about no af and the BFN's, my cycle has been late quite a few times and the only way I could stay sane was to temp so at least I knew what was happening (whether I O'd late etc). Hope it's just too early for a BFP but please keep enjoying your holiday, don't let this get you down.

Hi all... sorry im selfish today but gotta unload :( ... AF is just around the corner... im sure of it cos i dont think there's any chance of me being pg... i have no funny belly feelings any more & just read on the conception forums that during ovulation your cervix is high & soft & if conception has occured, then the cervix remains like high & soft... but mine is low & hard...

i had sore bbs & cramps that could have meant ovulation last monday & tuesday but dh didnt want to dtd because he was tired... more like couldnt be bothered! we dtd on wednesday but it was too late...

now im emotional & sad & a bit angry at dh... i want a baby badly! im so impatient...

Vanaithi-- :hug: It could just be too early to be feeling or seeing any signs yet, especially if you only O last week. If you did O last week, it would still be another week or so before you would feel anything (if you felt anything at all, since many women don't feel any signs in the beginning). Cheer up hun, you can't rush perfection! Rome wasn't built in a day.... You know all the old cliche's. I know it's really hard waiting it out, we all get frustrated and antsy--but have faith that your time will come! BTW, feel free to vent anytime--we've all been there!


AJC--Looks like you're getting your long-awaited longer LP! About that funny taste in your mouth, you didn't forget to brush your teeth or something, did you? :rofl: j/k... You're signs sound pretty interesting so far... I'm keeping my eye on you, and praying this is going to be your month!

Vanaithi - af must be on her way to me too because mine is low & hard. However, I felt my cp when I was pg last time and it was low & hard then too. I think it can vary according to the time of day. I'm sorry you are feeling so down today. :hug:

Hi ladies,

Just popping in to let you know that we are back from Singapore and we had a lovely time :) The weather was wonderful and warm and it has been horrible to come back to the cold :rolleyes:

Unfortunately though, it was a BFN for me this last cycle :( with a short LP again. So we are cycle tracking again this month (its day 10 today) and will hopefully be adding some LP support - Pregnyl or progesterone pessaries. So at least this last cycle has been good because it has identified a problem that can be treated.

Sorry for the lack of personals, but there is way to many to catch up with now, will try again soon. Hope everyone is well :)

vanaithi - don't worry honey - mine is low & hard too!!! I think AJC is right - that it depends on time of day! :hug: hun - i do understand how hard it is to want a baby so bad that you might as well bash ur head up against a wall with frustration!! Keep strong sweet!

Welcome Acria & Lea - this is such a lovely group to be a part of for all the love and support you get.

AJC - *with commercial voice* "did you know that the malt in Milo is very good for your spleen? The spleen plays an important role in early conception. A cup of milo a day is a good thing". (Did you like that? that's according to my acupuncturist - but, as with evrything, use in moderation).

jen & canary - i hear ur accents too when i read ur posts (at least what i think ur accent is depending on the area ur from).

plc - love it! I do usually have a cup in the morn with my brekkie (cold) but I do occassionally have a warm mug at night. Interesting, maybe having a taste for milo is my body's way of telling me something.

megsmum - Glad you had a nice time in Singapore. Sorry about the BFN. I starting taking B6 this cycle for my LP. Had 10 day LP last month and I'm on 11dpo this month and temp still high, still no sign of af. Don't have any preggie feelings but I am just happy that I have a longer LP this cycle. Good luck and as you say, at least if you identify a problem you can treat it.

Jen - I can look after up to 7 kids under the age of 12 kids each day with a limit of 5 under school age, at the moment I have my own son (11), three school kids (one after and two before - 8, 8 & 6) and up to 5 littlies a day, depends on the day, the youngest is 8m and the eldest is 4, I seem to have a lot of 2yo and have 11 kids on my books. My "work day" starts at 7.30am and finishes at 6pm except for Thursday when I finish at 8.30pm. Long hours, but it pays the bills. I've been doing day care since 1995 although I did have a couple of years off when I had my second son, (i had trouble ttc him and started spotting at 8w, panicked and quit on the spot, but at least I kept him). I have a couple of new families due to start in the next few weeks, hopefully most of the reno will be done by then. I have an eight seater car and we go visit other carers or parks,or play centres to escape, then I bring them home and they go to sleep along with all the noise, which is wonderful, actually I have two 2yos and the 8mo asleep now.

My temp is still being weird, I usually have temps of 36.0 to 36.4 before O (sorry don't know conversion) but they have been running at 36.7, 36.8, should be o'ing in the next few days, but don't know what will happen to them then. Really got me confused.

AJC - maybe i should swap to milo, i seem to be drinking a lot of tea at the moment, can't be too good for me. I've always enjoyed a hot milo and occasionally will have one before bedtime, lovely on cool nights.

Vanaithi - :hug: sometimes our partners just don't want to play the game, I feel that at times it must be a drain on them too, having to perform on demand, or at the right time, sometimes you just need to focus on your relationship (and if you're sneaky you can do it at O). TTC and BFN's takes a lot out of both partners in a relationship. I know my DH used to feel he was only good for one thing, we've learned that there is more to life then that and I know that he wants another baby just as much as I do

PLC - just wanted to send you some :stickyvibesgirl::stickyvibesboy: not that you need them cause you'll be complaining soon about not fitting into any of your clothes.

I have to get back to work now, the boys will be awake soon, then I have to go out to my shed and size up the kitchen we have in storage and work out just where the builders have to put in the new kitchen window. There putting my weatherboards on the walls at the moment. Noisy but exciting.

according to chinese calendars this month is my girl month so as soon as AF goes we will be BD like rabbits!

AJC & PLC1805: I will have to google the cervical position now because of the varying opinions.. i checked mine at 2pm today and i couldnt find it anywhere! & it was soft & squishy in there... hehehe... wonder where it goes to? I always thought the cp would be high & soft to let the spermies get in when youre fertile & then when you're not fertile it goes hard...

Does anyone know why the cervix moves at certain times of the day???

PLC1805 & Mollycat: I would rather bash my dh's head in! haha :) But no worries, i told him off this morning, so that next time when i say we gotta do it then he does what he's meant to do! :P~ (My dh isnt required to dtd very often at all! have been out of action for a few days- have been sick and felt a little down and out after AF came...anyway she is almost leaving, just packing her bags now so i am starting to feel a little better.

i have booked an appt with an acupuncturist and herbalist who specialises in fertility- i figure she must be good because the earliest appt is end of june. anyway we might get lucky before then but in any case i have something to look forward to and be positive about

i will have to read through and catch up on where everyone is at, just wanted to pop in and say a big hello first. hope everyone is well.

Van - I understand what you mean about Dh's not being co-operative. And I really get the feeling like I'm using him for his sperm sometimes, especially when it's clear I'm not actually turned on, etc. We decided to start TTC again last week and I'm coming up to my fertile time, so it's been a case of DTD every day atm. Monday it was great, still exciting because it had been a while. Yesterday neither of us really felt like it, but felt that we *should*, and today I surprised DH in bed when he came home from work. I suppose it's a matter of finding what works for you, and both having the same views and feelings about it. It's going to be okay for him when you're both making love 'just for the sperm', if you both understand that you are't always going to feel like it, and sometimes it's one of those thigns you're doing for love, just in a different way :) Wow..that was rambly of me..

Plc - glad to hear that about milo! I never knew that..just knew it was meant to have a lot of useful minerals and vitamins, and no caffiene. Extra motivation for drinking milo ;) Always welcome.

I have no idea about my cervial position..I've never actually tried to feel it, but I feel like it would be uncomfortable for some reason. And I don't temp either -_- I'm lazy with TTC..I can usually feel for a couple of days when I'm going to ovulate, I get pains..so I tend to think 'Well, I know when my fertile period is coming'. I just hope I'm right!

Mollycat - is there any chance you could have O'd early? Mmmm, the milo has been yum. I was off tea and coffee full stop for a while but I told myself that I need to relax so am allowing myself 1 - 2 cups per week of one or the other. Dare devil aren't I?!?! he he he

hi im still trying to work this thing out.. i forgot where i had posted and took me all day to try n find it again :doh: coming here i feel like i am not the only one that has gone through wot i have.. its interesting to read how other people are coping and how they know so much about there bodies.. goodness me i have no idea when i ovulate and all that. i brought a maybe baby thingy to try and help.... im waiting for an appointment to see a specialist.. but have to go for an ultraound on monday to check my ovaries and uterus.. the dr wants to make sure i dont have pcos....

I am very seriously considering delaying my trip by a week and just don't know if that makes me a total ttc obsessed crazy-woman! I have a feeling this is not normal behaviour but will probably change my flights anyway!!! What the heck!!

Another question - anyone ever come across any info on the effect St John's Wort can have on sperm? DH has been taking it for about a month or so and reading a recent post where someone mentioned they'd stopped taking it in order to ttc got me thinking...

AFM... Supposed to O on Sat.... DF and I have been keeping very busy lately IYKWIM!! Feeling very relaxed about everything at the moment, just having fun BD'ing whenever, instead of doing it to TTC. Hope this doesn't offend anyone, but anyone looking to spice things up should definitely try watching movies--how do you think I was able to get to 5 times in one night????? :redface: "sigh" it's hard to be a hero! :rofl:

Jenushka- Yes, you can add me to the list of us who would change her flight. The way I see it is that I only have 12 chances per year to conceive (Well, 11 really 'cos of my longer cycles). Do you think that going away, having a rest, re-charging your batteries, letting your hair down (etc.) might actually be helpful? If so, then you migh not want to change it.....?

AJC- Wow, it really sounds good symptom wise- I've got my fingers and toes crossed!!

I am on CD35 and am going insane!! Yes, I know that I am slightly stressed with work at the mo, and am OBSESSED with whether AF is on her way...so maybe that's why she's not here. Have NO pg symptoms. Woke up yesterday and today with mild cramps and thought she would arrive. Just want her to get here so i can get on with the next cycle and calm down a bit. My last cycles were 33 and 34 days long, so it's not like AF is very late......What shall I do? it is so tempting to POAS, but as mentioned yesterday, I'd rather not see a BFN.

Sorry to ramble on. I think I must be one of the most impatient people in history!

canary- i can't believe you still haven't tested! if i was you i would definitely test- but then again if i was you i would have tested 5 days ago whether i had symptoms or not....

anyway my fingers are crossed and i am :pray: for you to get your BFP

Canary - can't remember if u have already POAS this cycle or not but maybe it's time to do so again. Try tomorrow morning perhaps with FMU. If it is the dreaded BFN, then I would get it checked out. Alternatively, wait 2-3 more days and then POAS , etc. Sometimes AF can be indeed delayed cos of stress. :hug: hun!

jenushka - i don't have an opinion one way or another with the plane travel other than do what you feel is the right thing for you - particularly ur state of mind!! ...not sure about St John's Wort and sperm, sorry.....

hello everyone else - i listed a whole heap of names last time and was mortified to learn since that i missed a few so not going to try this time - just know that u are ALL thought of!!!

Jen - at the moment they are cutting the wall out for the new kitchen window. We played jigsaw puzzle last night and put the kitchen together, it's now sitting in the middle of our backyard. I have to go out later and number it before putting it away again. It took about an hour to sort it out in the right shape. LOL. DH was so tired and cranky, glad it finally came together.

Other people's kids are usually pretty good to look after, every now and then you get a couple that are a little bit challenging, but most of the time it's easy. I often think that it's crazy too (when I have parent's coming for interviews at certain times I tell them it's a little bit mad here, especially after school)

Jenushka - I think i would change my flight as well - it's what us "dedicated" people would do.
Lea - good luck with your ultrasound - PCOS is not totally horrible (just a few life changes) and sometimes it's good to have a reason or explanation about what your body is doing.

AJC - I don't think i O'd early, my temp jumped about the time AF stopped, I guess time will tell? Dare Devil I don't think one or two cups will hurt you

Canary - Have you POAS at all, I hope for you that all this is leading to a BFP, I would be getting very anxious.

Canary--If you were impatient, you would've POAS already! I was thinking more along the lines of you're the MOST patient person in this group! :lol: I know what you mean about not wanting to see a BFN, but you have some definite restraint! I would be going crazy for sure by now! Do you have tests at home that you aren't using, or is that too much of a temptation for you? Because if you DO have tests and you're STILL showing this much restraint, then I'm going to get on my knees,bow down, and pay homage to you! :rofl: Saying tons of prayers for you!!!


mollycat--Sounds like a pain in the butt, but just imagine how great it will be when it's over! So is O coming up for you, too? I'm supposed to O on Sat. It's going to be a BD fest for me this weekend--but not going to tell DF, that way he doesn't feel pressured out. And definitely no use of the term "baby dancing", as I think that was a spoiler last month. I'm just going to try to keep the fun going for now, and try really hard to not think about any outcome! DF seems pretty happy lately, which makes him much easier to put up with, so I think I'll keep the focus on him for now! Will your extension be finished by this weekend?

Jenushka - you're totally normal! I would change flights to avoid missing the eggie, no doubt about that.

Canary - GL - hope it's a BFP. I know what you mean about being a little scared to POAS.

Mollycat - maybe it's just the tamoxifen making your temps higher than usual. I have found that this month my temps have been higher pre O than usual. Just to confuse us even more. Renos sound good, they are stressful but it will be sooo worth it.

afm - well temp still high today @ 12dpo. So relieved that my LP is longer this cycle, either coincidence or the B6 has helped. Might POAS if no af by Sat, going out for dinner for SIL's b'day so want to enjoy a nice glass of wine (or two or three) if I may. Jen - still have that funny taste in my mouth it's weird. Everything I eat has been repeating on me more than normal too. Breasts aren't that sore but are a little sensitive. DH commented this morn that they look more plump than usual and they are quite veiny too. Well as I said, trying not to get my hopes up.....easier said than done.

AJC--Your signs are sounding more and more promising! I've got everything--well, ok, not my legs, but everything else is crossed for you! :rofl: Sorry, feeling a little cheeky tonight!

Acria: Yeah it seems thats all dhs are good for ay! I thank my dh for his sperm donation with my legs in the air! :rofl: & the next day he'll give me money for bills or something & says to me "thanks, this is for last night!" win-win situation! Then I told him if we dont conceive this month then it's all his fault! oh well there's always the next month hey, but at then i know he'll be trying harder! :dance:

I googled cervical position yesterday & found - cp is soft & open during ovulation, once thats over then it would return to closed & hard regardless of whether or not conception has occured. & then its true that it shifts during different times of the day or something. oh well whatever! as long as it works hey.
