My GP told me that I should join a private health fund also to see an OB/GYN but when I rang to make my appointment with the gynae they told me not to worry about that as you get most of it back on Medicare. I rang MBF to ask them about coverage for seeing a gynae and they told me they don't cover it and there's a 12month waiting period before they will cover you, and MBF told me that they would only cover me for any hospital stays no proceedures that may need to be done.
