AFM, well I have been a bit quiet lately. As I said above, feeling a bit green with all the IVF stuff, as well as worrying about all the things that could go wrong - hyperstimulation, no eggs, no embryos, etc, etc, etc :( It is just so discouraging coming here and posting with bad news all the time, I just feel like that's all I ever do. I must admit I feel a bit like I am jinxing myself by talking about it too much :rolleyes: dumb I know! But enough of all of that!
All is going to plan so far, I had a blood test the other day to check that my cycle has been downregulated by the nasal spray, which it has yay! I have been pretty lucky with the side effects I think, I haven't really had any except for feeling really tired, which I can put up with LOL So I have had my first FSH injection this morning and I keep going with them until I go back to the clinic next Fri for a scan to check how many follicles and a blood test. Hopefully we will get a good number of follicles but not too many!
megsmum..... the same offer is there for you regarding questions with IVF as i gave Where There s Hope........ What level of injections do they have you on..... Dont stress over the hyperstimulation, yes its a nasty side possibility but there are so many different things that can go right or wrong if you allow those thoughts to occupy your mind you will end up being pretty stressed about the whole thing..... As a fellow control freak, yes IVF is very difficult.... you live from one appointment to the other.... knowing whats happening this week but not next week because it always seems to depend on what the FS see s at the next appointment..... its frustrating, daunting and down right scarey sometimes BUT when it works is majic :hug:
Angel - Oh I'm so sorry I forgot to wish you good luck for your scan tomorrow - I hate how you can't see tickers when posting! Good luck! Are you doing an IVF cycle now? How does it work with the Clomid?? Hope all goes well for you :hug:
Thanks so much for the offer, I may well take you up on it. It's so good to have a couple of ladies in here that are doing IVF as well - I must admit I feel a bit funny sometimes in the LTTTC section because I already have a DD. I'm just finding that I'm worrying about every little thing, for eg. it took a while for the clinic to ring me the other day with the blood results so I was worried that it was going to be bad news :wall: Most of the other times it has been bad news the call has come later than normal. I'm really doing my best to try not to stress, but it is hard not to sometimes as I'm sure you know. I do feel like I go from appointment to appointment like you said. I also just feel like we have been trying for this second baby forever now and that nothing is going right :( God help me when I get pg again, I've really got no idea how I'll get through that. If only I could go back to the innocence I had when I was pg with DD.
I'm on 125 IU of Puregon, FS has started me on a conservative dose. I always had follicles on each of my Clomid cycles - a leading one and 3 or 4 others behind it, so he is sure I should get a good response to the FSH. I hope he's right! I'll just be so glad when we get to embryo transfer :pray: I'm not even really worried about the EPU, but the bad thing is that it will be at the same hospy that I had my D&C at :( Talk about some bad memories there.
Megsmum...... I know what you mean about the Long Term TTC.... absolutely lovely bunch of girls in there ..... but thanks to this crazy bunch in here..... well i m like my teenange son.... I just cant leave home so regardless of the fact that my TTC is nearly 5 years... i m still here..... besides... it depends on how you look at it... maybe 5 years isnt 'long term' ;)

Thank You for your well wishes with my scan. Its at 7.50 tomorrow morning..... nervous would be an understatement. Having already done IVF, successful in one respect but unfortunately the twins didnt make it..... I told my NEW fs I wasnt in a hurry to do the full round of IVF again. Last time we did I scanned and picked up 10 good eggs..... 3 went to blast stage, 2 were good lookin blasts and 1 not so pretty..... the 2 good lookin ones (they must have taken after their mother;) ) were put back in and both stuck. The third... not so pretty duckling.... had to be let go as the FS thought it would not survive the thaw..... This time round I told my FS i would be keen to try IUI first before more IVF. He was all up for that and put me on Clomid. At the same time he sent DH for more tests..... (the results are in my blog....just so I dont bore everyone in here).... bottom line is...... DH s swimmers are not swimming.... some are floating and most are sinking...and the floaters are not pretty floaters..... so long description cut short.... ICSI is the only option.... ie the egg injected directly with the 'sinker/floater'.
So the FS decided that at the scan he would see how many eggs there are.... sort out a date for the trigger and then Egg Pick Up.... then from there we are looking at ICSI and then they are put back...... the good lookin ones.
It all is a bit of a shock to me and i really cant see why the FS didnt do the same thing last time.... I also already have children (19 and 16) but instead I was given full steam ahead treatment.... becasue of course... being the female it HAD to have something to do with my cycle regardless of history showing it was running like clockwork........OHHH SORRY... yep i caught myself.... I was being B1tchy wasnt I... Hmmmm ok... delete delete delete.... sorry....:doh:
Now as for your 125 pen..... that should be a low enough dose to not have to much of an effect on you.... mine was 450... and boy oh boy oh boy... hmm talk about hormone overload...... crumpy cow came out to play for lonnnnnng time :o
Now as for EPU... enjoy the sleep ;) ...... it really is nothing... tiny cramping afterwards but nothing you havent already felt while your hormones were going crazy down there. As for WHERE it is.... I have a theory in life.... when a place has bad memories..... just keep going until you replace all of those bad memories with good ones...

Am plodding along, nausea seems to have eased off a little (which scares the hell outta me!!) but is stil lingering.
Am 8 weeks today, dont know if i can survive another 4 weeks without knowing if everything is ok.
But i think i will have too, i was going to go back to doc's and ask for early scan, but i'm off on holiday in a week and half :dance: so dont think there will be much point as when i come back i'll be 12 weeks.
just have to keep :pray: that all is well and i think the holiday will do me the world of good. :D

Images in tickers
You may have a ticker with an image in it, PROVIDED that the ticker is designed to have the image inside the ticker, and not two seperate images. E.g. a ticker site that does combine the photo with the ticker is baby's first site. Many do not combine the image so please double check or ask the moderators if you are not sure.
Text in Signatures
We have put in place some new guidelines with regards to text in signatures. All members are allowed at maximum of 4 lines of text, and 2 blank lines, WITH a ticker or 6 lines of text and 2 blank lines WITHOUT a ticker. Market Place Members are allowed to have their business link as extra lines of text. Moderators are allowed to have article lins as extra lines of text as well. Please also have signatures aligned to the left
Text size can be no larger than size #4 which is this size. Normal text is size #2.
*PLATINUM MEMBERS ONLY (paid upgrade): Your own avatar (cartoon images) ONLY when in the designated avatar area of your profile (which displays it to the left of your post), and not in your signature or elsewhere. ATM- I'm 9 DPO, I called the OB office and talked to the nurse that gave me my BT results I told her that I'm still getting positive HPTS and she said well, I will run your chart to the DR and see what they say. I said theres no way that BT result was correct..! SHe hasn't called me back..

I called my OB office today. And talked to the ladie that gave me my blood results and I told her that theres no way my HCG is at 0 because I'm still getting positive pregnancy tests I said I think the blood test was wrong.. I also just did some more research to question weahter or not that maybe the HCG shot only shows in the urine but not blood just to make sure and I found this on an site "Two consecutive quantitative hCG (Human Chorionic Gonadotropin) beta blood tests can determine whether the hCG is from an injection or pregnancy. If the hCG (Human Chorionic Gonadotropin) level increases by the second test then there is distinct probability that you are pregnant". So, I'm betting that the test was a lab screw up.
