Hi all
I am so happy I finally got my period back yesterday...YAY... So will now see if my temps settle down and start ovulating again, they have been all over the place since Cooper's birth. It has taken 91/2weeks, was starting to think AF had gone into hiding and wasn't coming back! My cycles can be very irregular so it will be interesting to see what lies ahead, if they prove to be difficult again I think I will head off to the natropath.
Sryan - how is your spotting?? If your temps are still high it could very well be implantation bleeding, and your chart looks great, fingers crossed.
Hammi - I can't believe the doctors receptionist told you that!!! I would be having a HUGE whinge and pushing the issue a bit more you need answers NOW, it has been long enough!
Jo - good luck at your scan, I am glad you are going to a nicer environment, I have come across people just like you mentioned, they have no idea what they say sets off a time bomb of emotions they have just lit the fuse on
Katiegirl - Congratulations on your baby girl, how are you feeling now that you are past the 20 week mark?
Jen - Where are you up to? have you tested yet?
Rozzi - I am new in here too! Welcome
Sorry if I have missed anyone this has just taken me 10 min of going back and reading where everyone is up too, so if I have made a crappy mistake and swapped any of you around, I apologise!
Yesterday I had a bit of spotting. It's been two and a half weeks since AF started (my first one since birth) so i thought maybe it was implantation bleeding, but today it was quite heavy, almost like AF starting again, though it seems way too soon.
Did anyone else have weird bleeding after births? It's been almost 10 weeks since I gave birth and I thought the hormonal bleeding was over... Have been really upset because I was doing OPTs all last week and never seemed to ovulate. I really want to be pregnant again but am feeling pessimistic now.
Rozzie - sorry I am of no help to you about the bleeding. I would suggest you call your Dr and ask what they think - it doesn't hurt to ask for their opinion.
Hgirs - glad to hear AF has arrived. I hope your cycle evens out for you. Well done on covering everyone.
Tempus - so glad to see you back. I hope your FS can offer some other options that suit you more.
Jo - good luck with the scan this week. I know this week will be difficult but hopefully the scan will help you move past this milestone.
Jen - sorry AF showed her ugly face. Hopefully this cycle will bring some good results.
Hammi - I second what everyone has said - the receptionist had no right to brush you off like that. Sometimes I think Obs and their offices are more equipped to deal with live babies and fall short in the support they offer to mothers of angels. I am lucky this time around to have a better Ob who understands the heartbreak. I really think you need to insist that they chase the results - or else ask them for the contact details and do it yourself. You have the right to know what the results are and shouldn't have to wait that long.
As for me - as asked by Hgirs yes I am glad to move past 20 weeks. I had a scan on Friday and it was a good result again. In face the scans seeem to get a bit easier each week. I have to wait until the 15th now until next scan as my Ob is on holidays. I am going to try and not freak out and trust that all is well. The hard thing is I have been sick and I started to feel better on Sat, but I woke up yesterday morning at 5am feeling sick and then it just got worse. I thought it was indigestion but I ended up vomiting (TMI) and then felt sick and nauseous for the rest of the day. I was finally able to eat some dry crackers last night. I don't feel nauseous today but headachey etc which is how I felt last week - so I am now having Day 4 off work! I am going to the GP this morning. Whilst I know this can't effect the baby, it is hard not to let it worry me. I will just wait to feel the baby move and hopefully that will give me a boost.
Thank you for all your advice and support. I faxed a letter to the ob's office asking them to send my GP the hospital details so she can chase for me. I also said that while it's a matter of paperwork for everyone else, this is about my much loved and dearly missed baby.... miracles of miracles, I got a phone call that very morning. The receptionist was all sorry and said she just called the hospital again and they said one more month. I'll believe it when I see it but I felt better writing that letter (I'm a wuss and prefer to write instead of talk).
Katie, did you have morning sickness in your first trimester? I don't remember you saying you did except for being tired. Do you think what you have is morning sicknesss or a bug? I hope you feel better soon. As if it's not enough that you have to live without a scan for two weeks. You don't need to be feeling sick at the same time. I'm so glad you're now past 20wks. Half way there!
Jen, boooooooo hisssss to AF again. Who invited her!
Rozzie, I think the bleeding is one of those wait and see things. Is it fresh blood or brown? Your hormones could still be a bit all over the place since you only recently delivered your baby. Hopefully it will settle and give you a regular cycle.
Helen, the first AF after your baby is bittersweet isn't it? A good sign that your body is returning to normal but when I had mine it was like someone slapped me across the face with a big NOT PREGNANT sign.
Sue, I've never had implantation bleeding so I'm not sure if that's what you're having but... fingers crossed!
Hi Jo, remember to tell us about your scan this week... when do you think you'll put a ticker up?
Hi Hammi - no I did not have morning sickness besides the occasional wave of nausea. So yesterday was a bad surprise. I have been to the GP and he thinks it is just a bug and I need to rest up. I pushed myself on Sat cleaning the house and cooking for our friends who came to stay with their 2 children. So I paid for it yesterday. I have told work I won't be working tomorrow and will rest up. I also bought some Gaviscon today to help with the indigestion and excessive burping! Charming.
Well it's definitely AF... only two and a half weeks after the last one. This one is a proper one though so maybe that's good. I hope it's temporary though, if I have a 2.5 week cycle I will never get pregnant!!!
Hammi- I can't believe the autopsy results take so long, I'm in Canberra and I had mine within 6 weeks for my check-up. I hope you have some luck chasing them up.
Helen--Congrats on AF--sounds unusual to say around here! Your body is now refreshed and ready for a new try! I wasn't quite as happy with her visit with me--I'm CD 3, and she's sharing some nasty cramps with me! Praying your cycle and temps behave, and you're blessed with a quick BFP!!
Rozzie--I know that many of the women in the other thread I belong to have had irregular bleeding during their cycles, especially if it's the first or second cycle after m/c. I think it's probably best to call the dr. just in case... you find some answers!
Hammi-- you get quick results on the autopsy! Like you, I'm a very un-confrontational person, I tend to find things much easier to handle through writing than vocalizing. It's a shame that considering all you've been through already, you would have to be calling and chasing answers from them! Sending you lots of strength and
Katiegirl--Glad to hear about another great scan! for a quick 2 weeks for you until your next scan! I hope you begin to feel better, it's bad enough being sick, but to be sick while pg. is unbearable! Sending lots of get better vibes!
jo--Yes, jo, where is your ticker? You're long past overdue for one! Good luck with your upcoming scan!
Sue--How's the temping coming along? Haven't seen today's numbers, but your temp's still nice and high!
Well temps are still up and the spotting has stopped (only went for a day). So fingers crossed.....
Though it probably isnt a good month as I have been off Metformin as my Dr wanted me to have another GTT (which was today). Now I am too scared to go back on just in case it upsets my levels......
Katiegirl, so good to hear that your scan went well. Positive vibes for the rest of the pregnancy.... Sorry to hear about the morning sickness, hope you are feeling better.
Hammi - I so hope you get your results soon. It must be so hard waiting!!!
Rozzie - so sorry to hear about the spotting.... Hopefully you get some answers... though I think it is your body trying to get back to a normal routine.
Hello Tempus, welcome - hope to get to know you better.
hi everyone!
i write with some good news! i had my ultrasound, even with no initial tears or nervousness! I did'nt even ask her to turn off the screen until she saw a heartbeat. I felt good going to the other place and i think that had alot to do with my state of mind going in this morning. I had the most amzing and gentle sonographer, she understood my history and made a point of identifying every last thing we could see and telling me how good it all looked for our baby at this point. she said all is looking healthy and normal, the heartbeat was a bit faster than expected (anyone know what this means) but she was still happy. So now my state of mind is looking alot better and positive. There will al;ways be that nagging doubt in the back of my mind (paranoia) but today really helped shift my belief system. And she said it looks like we are having a girl which backs up the "i think" of the 12 week scan and my psychic even!! She said to get it checked in my 22 week one and they will be able to tell even better.
to all of you...
TM - you are back!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I was so happy to see you post! You will see we were thinking of you even when you were'nt here so i hope that gives you a nice boost of support! I am crossing my fingers for you!Are there any cheaper versions that you can go on? or other alternative routes? And more importantly, HOW ARE YOU feeling?
sryan - bloody spotting! It makes things so much more confusing! At least you can see a positive in your seeing natropath so that is good!
hammi - yay for you...big step but i am glad you put a kick up their butts so bluntly. keep on them, don't be afraid of the verbal part -if you get emotional then that is still a good thing for them to see how much all these delays affect you! i really hope this month passes quickly and you get the answers you are hoping for. take crae!
katie - i hope you are still resting ... forget about visitors and your house. They can wait, you need to rest! So how often will you get ultrasounds now? every 2 weeks now or will they start to phase back a bit. i am glad to hear your last one continued the goos news trend! REST!!!!I just got through the worst heartburn for 2 days and i was ready to chuck everyone out!
jen - lol! the ticker can come now, so be on the alert! hope this month can be yours! heres to a countdown...
rozzie - my bleeding after birth with jack was terrible and every time it stopped for a couple of days it would come back full force for longer. The AF before i concieved with this baby was horrendous, i could could give you stories with far TMI. But my body was obviously doing something it needed to cos it all worked out. It sux and we don't understand it when its happening, we just need to trust our bodies even through the frustration!
hgirs -yay for Af! This is good as it means you have a starting point again now! good luck!
take care all, i hope i did'nt leave anyone out!
x jo
