yes i did but only for 3 months then i had some complications and was really tired so i had to stop! i found a good way to manage with the breastfeed was to express and breastfeed. that way someone could help to fed one child while i nurse the other. Also it helped if i wanted to get some rest or do something else. Also breastfeeding and expressing milk (religiously) every 3-4 hours increases the milk production (at least it did for me). I used to wake up at night even as the babies sleep to pump the milk to make sure that i don't dry up....

    good luck

    Hi,

Congrats to you all, I too am having twins and I am 21 weeks, last night was the first time I felt them kick with my hand, at 18 weeks I felt them moving inside but they haven't kicked until last night. My husband was so happy that he finally could feel them.

I am due 20 Sept, but my OB wants me to go C Section on 7 Sept...but I'm hoping for natural.

Last week we just went for our first baby shop, went looking for the perfect stroller, its so hard, we are tossing up between the VAlco ION and Valco Latitude.

    Yay Bluebell

Congrats and welcome to the twin train

I'm surprised your Obst has already made that hasty choice for you!! Surely if they are both head down you can go vaginally or is there another reason why he has decided to go down the c section route? My Obst hasn't said anything about a c sect yet and I'm 29 weeks, I'm hoping to go vaginally, as I need a speedy recovery I have no family around me. I love feeling them kick me, sometimes I look down at my belly and can actually see a foot or a fist moving around!! My partner finds it a bit freaky, but I love it.

    Hi twin mummies,

Teagz when do you have your scan? those numbers are abit high.

Blubelle Whaoo movement I can't wait to have that feeling I know what it feels like to have 1 kicking around in there but to have 2 I can't even imagine it. I have had a look around for some prams as well had have seen the Valco latitude and it looks pretty good the only thing is the high seems to be a low I have a tall husband he would found it hard to push. I will keep hunting around let me know how you go.

Kezzabird how are you feeling? Have you done all your shopping yet?

AFM Just hit my 2nd tri and am feeling really good still feeling abit low on energy but I am getting use to it. I have popped already and can't fit any of my pants so have brought a pair of maternity pants and wear my trackies alot more luckly its winter. I have my scan tomorrow so can't wait to see them again hopefully they have all there little bits and pieces. They also checking to see if they are shearing the same sac or separate fingers crossed they are in their own.

Hope everyone is looking after themselves

    Hope everyone

    Thumbs up Congrats!!

First of all, congratulations on your twins!!!

I had twins in October 2008, so are now just over 7 months old. They are great fun!!!

I had mine premmie (27 weeks!). The only thing that I can suggest is that you take life easy and keep up to date with your obstetrician appointments. If you are in Melbourne, I have a great OB who specialises with twin and high risk pregnancies.

I have 2 beautiful girls and it's all thanks to my OB and the crew at the Mercy NICU!!!

The Contented house with twins is a great book to look at. Otherwise, I would just go with your gut. The thing with twins is that they are both going to be so different and have their own beautiful personalities.

During your pregnancy, just make sure that you rest up and take on the extra food that they will need.

If you need any info, or want to chat, I'm more than happy to help you and would love to talk more.

    Good luck and enjoy!

    Ladies, hello!!!!

Azz, congratulations!!!!!!!!!! Beautiful names!!! And glad they are doing so well. Sounds like you had cholestasis - poor thing!!! But at least your little darlings are ok.

Sorry this will be short as I am whacked at the moment!! But after just over four weeks in nicu we finally brought hamish and lachie home this week. I am ecstatic and exhausted all at once, and still the happiest mama getting around.

Big love to all of you, thinking if you often

Jen - great to hear your home now!

Hi to everyone sorry am going to keep this short...

How am i going to cope another 6 weeks i am sooooo uncomfortable! I know i'm whinging but back is killing me. If i walk or do much during the day i get awful pelvic pressure but if i sit/lie around all day i get stiff and really sore - i feel like i can't win! Have also been getting BH which have been quite uncomfortable. I went to the hydro pool today so am hoping that might help if i try to go each day and i have booked a pregnancy massage for Thur so if it's good then maybe i'll try to go weekly.

    Any tips welcome!!!!!!

Azza hope the boys are doing well.

    Good Evening ladies,

Bella I soooooo feel for you it is so it is so hard to get around from now on I wished I could have 4 baths a day while I was in hossy and sore pelvic floor ouch. I think you are doing everything you can now to get through it a massage and hydro pool sound fantistic. Im glad your boys are doing well 200g between the 2 isnt to bad. Try and keep you feet up while you can, my feet looks like ballons now and it is impossible for me to put them up now. I will keep popping to check up on you.

Jen yah they are out that is fantastic no more going to the hossy everyday.

Bug6 that is a terrible thing to have happen to you im so sorry to hear that welcome to this thread.

They boys are doing great they have both moved to the last room before they come home the paed is thinking they may come home in the next 1-2 weeks depending on how they breastfeed they have already past their birth weight. I am still trying to get my milk supply up it taking it time but I will keep trying.

Hope everyone is doing well and I will keep popping in.

Hi twin mummies and mummies to be,

    Hope everyone is doing well.

Bella, Yay to know a date for a planned induction, I am hoping to get to 36 weeks too. I hope you are tracking along ok. I can't imagine how you are feeling with your back, so many things to look forward to 'not'. The hydro pool sounds great, and same with the pregnancy massage.

Azz, congrats again, so glad to hear all is going well with your boys, and 1 - 2 weeks will fly by until you can bring them home. Just curious, how long does it normally take for your milk to come in? So do you supplement with formula until then? Are you getting colostrum? I am really keen to give breastfeeding a good go and have been trying to read all I can.

Jen, woo hoo, so great to hear you have the boys home. Now the fun begins, hope it is all going well and you are resting when you can.

Bug, I am so sorry to hear your story, welcome to BB and I hope you can find the support you need here.

Argon, have read your posts and am learning lots from you. It might sound a little weird but I am trying not to think too much about post birth, just going into this with some positive expectations, and will deal with what ever comes my way. I am so keen to breastfeed but don't want to put too much pressure on myself. Am thinking about joining the ABA, has anyone done that?

Kezzabird, hope you are going well too. Will spend some time to catch up with where you are at.

    Hi Ausgirl, Hi everyone else.

AFM, I am feeling really good, have lots of movement now, which only started about a week ago. I must admit I was feeling a little nervous about not feeling anything sooner, for some reason I thought with twins it might happen sooner. They are really making up for lost time, there is a party in my belly for two at the moment.

Has anyone joined their multiple birth association? I joined the Gold Coast branch about a month ago but am having all sorts of issues getting in touch with them or getting anyone to call me back. I am hoping to do their new parents intro night and to meet some other twin mums.

DH are working on renovating the house, we are hoping to put it on the market after New Year, I am a little worried about the timing and possibly moving but will have to wait and see what happens. I am so excited we have almost finished the nursery, just waiting on some wall decals and a new 2 seater lounge and we are done, it is lovely, even has a pretty chandelier on a dimmer switch with very low light. Though considering we may sell, there is a possibility that we won't even get to put the girls in, and will have to duplicate where ever we end up.

I have been googling lots about weight gain, so far I have put on 6kgs and am happy with that, am aiming for a minimum of 15kgs, which I am sure will come, and am definitely eating to my hearts content .

So... nothing too exciting for me, just plodding along. Belly rubs to all xx
