Oh i so agree with Kate...i had a perfectly normal pregnancy. I had an elective C-section and chose to give birth at 37 weeks and were good birth weights (2kg and 2.5kg) and now they are even a few kilos overweight!!
not every pregnancy is the same be it a single pregnancy or multiples. each carrier (the mommy) has a different body and therefore different results. just take it easy and donlt over exert yourself especially in your first trimester.
AS for movement and showing....it all happened around 5months. keep in mind though that around the begining of your 3rd trimeater you will be huge and people will automatically assume that you are due any day!!!

by the way i would suggest reading the book "Ready or Not Here We Come!: The Real Experts' Guide to the First Year With Twins (Paperback)" by Elizabeth Lyons . its a great book that gives you an IDEA of what to expect. I keep it by my night stand and refer to it every once in a while!

I agree with you and Vtmom with everybody is different I think we just have to take each day as they come and try not to worry. What sort of twins do you both have, I have Identical twins shearing placentas and anmiotic sac's.
Kawazuki I was so sure it was twins your numbers were so high but you are right 1 could be hiding. But congrats it must of been exciting see that heart beat
Can i jump in here..... we are expecting identical twins! We have just finished our first IVF cycle which of course ended in a BFP - we went for a scan yesterday and despite only putting one blastocyst embryo back - it split and we are having twins! We are so very excited but scared at the same time! I'm 7w 1d pregnant. I jumped online last night when we got home and all i found was horror stories about twin-to-twin transfusion syndrome etc etc.... We know nothing about being pregnant with twins and i will go out tommorrow to look for a book - i was positive i saw the "what to expect when your expecting "twins" ages ago but everywhere i call don't know about it?

It's so great to hear about other twin pregnancies! I am also expecting identical twins, girls to be exact. At first they told me I was having mono mono twins, which is where there is no membrane between the bubs- this is a very risky pregnancy with lots of possible complications. But at the 12 week scan they spotted a very feint membrane, which makes it a mono di pregnancy, much less risk involved. But identicals are more susceptible to the twin to twin transfusion syndrome, you will get regular scans after 24 weeks, I am having one every 3 weeks up until 32 weeks, then one every 2 weeks there after to monitor their growth.
So far so good, twin A is 2 days ahead in growth to twin B, but they say as long as they are within 10 days of each other it's perfectly fine. They plot their growth on a chart on the computer and show you how they are growing, they even told me on friday that they are weighing just over 2lb each at the moment , I was amazed they could tell!
Anyway good luck to all you ladies in the early stages, it's always such a big relief to reach the 12 weeks stage.
Bella55 Welcome and double congrats for your little surprises in your tummy. It sounds like you are telling my story the same thing happened to me through IVF. I transfered 1 blast and it split, what IVF did you go to. Did they tell you what sort of identical twin you have? I also did the same thing when I found out I jumped straight on to the net and found horror stories, I stopped doing that and am now reading a book called (Twins by Katrina Bowan and Louise Ryan) its a great read and helped me with some of the answers I had. It starts from conception to preschool.
I am now 11 weeks and 2 days getting closer to that 12 week mark.
Kazzabird I hope that at my next scan they will see a faint line between them Im not to worried about the twin to twin transfusion as I know that they can do something about that but if they get tangeled there is nothing they can do depending on how far long you are to do a emergancy C secton. Thanks for tell us about how many scans you get I was about to ask that question.
Azzrenae - i have replied in the LTTC pregnancy forum - but i have identical twins not sure if they are sharing a sac they couldn't quite tell so i'm having a repeat scan in 2 weeks which will make me week 9 - how many scans did everyone have?
Just thinking about work - i have a very active job -i'm a charge nurse in an Emergency Department - so shift work etc when did people work til?
