I'm Odette and one of the oldies in here - lolol
my twins are 3 1/2 b/g.
If your twins are sharing a placenta, sounds like they are identical. This could possibly mean heaps more monitoring for twin to twin transfusion. There is a higher risk for c-section with twins no matter what. My twins were born via c-section at 31 weeks as my sons plcenta had given up the goat. They were very small and very sick - but now that are well above their sizes for age, and have not missed a milestone.
The best place for info is your local multiple birth group. Contact AMBA either via the web, or phone and they will put you in touch with your local group. Most clubs offer ante-natal session which are fantastic hands on info from people that have twins themselves. Also our twin club has a playgroup which you can take your older child even before your twins are born.
having twins and raising twins is definately a unique experience to having one child at a time. My friend had 3 kids under four and then 12 years later had twins. She reckons that the 3 under 4 were heaps easier that her twins lolol. Her sanity and mine are our twins club get togethers.
good luck and if you have any question, please do hesitate to ask.
