Please feel free to introduce yourself and your twins or more, maybe also describing the hardest part about being a parent to a multiple as well as the best part! Enjoy!

Just wondering if anyone has been at total rock bottom. I am in the process of waiting for a place in the mother baby unit as I have just hit a brick wall. I am suffering from exhaustion and PND (late onset). Gabe is a terrible sleeper day and night, luckily Tallulah is perfect, but when she gets up every couple of nights, it just throws me into turmoil. I dont know how to sleep anymore. Or how to stayt awake. If I can get to sleep, it is extremely light and I have a headache and sore all over.
So I am pretty lost at the moment, and guess just want to feel like I am not alone on the difficult multiple journey.
Thank goodness I am not the only one feeling that way. I have not been on here since April as I had forgotten my password and never got around to resetting it until last night.
As you can see it is 0415 in the morning and my little devils are both awake
Ryan and Samuel are now almost 8 months (corrected age 6 months) They have both decided that they no longer want to sleep
Tuesday both boys were awake from 7am until 7pm with a total period of 40 minutes sleep, then during the night they woke 3 times. Ryan is full on rolling around his cot and ends up with arms and legs hanging out the side and he gets stuck. I go in and fix him up and settle him again, 5 minutes later he is kicking the side of the cot and giggling. Unfortunately it has got to the stage that I dont find it amusing anymore and school holidays are not helping either as the 5 and 10 year olds just want to make lots of noise and go places.
To top it off I had my gall bladder out last week with some complications, so I am not even supposed to be lifting the babies yet.
Have you been given any indication of waiting periods for the sleep centres Helen ? A girlfriend called QEC in Melbourne yesterday and was told she had a 6 week wait just for the phone consultation and then up to 6 months wait for the residential program ?
Just thought I would reply and let you know that you are definately not alone
Im new to this just wondering if there are any twin Mum's on the gold coast? Im 24 and I am Mum to beautiful 4 year old twin girls im interested in meeting other twin Mum's around my age or any age it really doesn't matter
Hi Gemalala,
I am on the Gold Coast also, though am still cooking my twins . I did join the Gold Coast Multiple Birth Association, they have monthly catch ups and special functions for mulitple parents, and are a great support network, if you google you will find it. Perhaps try there, and I might see you at one of the functions. Take care xx
Hi Bimboo,
Nice to meet you. It has been a little quite in this thread, most of us were posting in one started by Azzrenae but the mods have since closed it, there were a few twin mums to be but they have all had their bubs, it was sort of just me hanging around, so glad you are hear and also glad you are on the Gold Coast too.
Sorry to hear you lost a triplet, that must be very hard, I can't imagine. But glad to hear you are doing well (relatively ) and to get to 32+ weeks is great, I have heard/know plenty of other twins who arrived much earlier. Are your twin ID or fraternal, as I believe fraternal twins tend to bake a little long as they tend not to have some of the issues associated with ID twins like TTTS. Mine are fraternal.
I have a scan tomorrow with my OB to check how they are going, I see Dr Dutt at John Flynn, and am really keen to see if their position as I am hoping for a VB, so twin 1 needs to be head down, fingers crossed.
I can relate to how you feel size wise, I feel huge, and am feeling very tired, I have a lot of pelvic pain on one side, rolling over in bed is so difficult and it is really hard to sleep, have just started getting dead arms and pins and needles at night. But am totally over the moon to be having twins.
You are lucky you have experience with your daughter, she sounds like a dream, I hope this puts you in good stead for the twins arrivals. Do you know what you are having?
I mentioned in a previous post I joined the multiple birth association on the Gold Coast, they have some great information and help, like breast feeding pillow hire, and can also lend you a tub of premmie clothes to use for the first month or so so you don't need to buy so much.
Let me know if you would be up to a catch up for coffee, I am keen to meet other twin mums too.
Hi, i'm a mother of twins boy and girl and they are 18 months, they are so much fun I enjoy everyday with the. I would love to have other set of twins.
Hi Cathie, I know exactly what you mean. I have loved having twins so much, they are so special. A friend of mine is awaiting her 2nd set of twins. Lucky girl, I am so very happy for her. She gets a lot of comments about what a nightmare her life must be. I just think she is doubly blessed
Hi , she is soo blessed. Yeah everyone always comments on how hard it must be and I tell them it's not hard it's fun. they are so cute Hana just loves Sam so much she kisses him ans gives him his dummy and pats him an the back. And Sam just sits there and enjoys all the attention. I can just see them at preschool together Hana will be getting his shoes ect for him.
hi cathie 5,
well im not a twin mummy but have always love following all my twin mums around this forum,it just really interest me and i love hearing all the twinny stories.so a big welcome to you hunny and your twins sound so cute
Thought I'd pop in n say hi my twins are arriving Monday if not sooner I've lost my plug, getting contractions that even sleeping tablets cantknock off and urinating a lot! But I'm in hospital yetnot dilating so playing a very painful, stressful waiting game!
I can't believe I'm actually a mummy of twins haha it's real they are here! It's such a different feeling of cloud 9 I just can't wait until they get out of SCN and I can look after them the way a mummy should
I missed your ff bs BF debate hope what did you end up going with?
I'm dreading tomorrow I'm on tears everytime I think about it, how am I going to leave hospital and leave my boys here?
How can I when I live a 30 min drive away yet can't drive after a c/s get back to the hospital everyday for feeds I can't get DD2 looked after everyday nor can I chase her around SCN whilst I'm expressing
I think next to saying goodbye to Anthony this is the toughest parenting moment
As of the weekend my boys are purely FF. I agonised and agonised over the decision but in the end my body made the decision for me. I feel at peace with it though. One less thing for me to worry/get stressed about.
I found it hard to leave the hospital without my boys. I was doing ok until I went to get into the car for the first time and the capsules were empty and then we got home and their bedroom was empty. Everyone deals with the situation differently though. We did it for 5 days before we were able to bring them home so I guess we were pretty lucky on the length of time. There was another lady in SCN with us who also had twins. She lived about half hour away also so she stayed in a hotel during their stay in SCN. She had a three year old daughter and sometimes she brought her into scn and other times she was able to get her looked after. In the SCN we were in there was a little room that had some toys a tv and a video player so that came in handy for her. All the best with this part of your journey. I hope you work something out that works for you.
Hey everyone
Today is my discharge day I'm hiding in the nursery the ward nurses don't come in here
Both boys have had a few mins on the breast today so a small step forwards
Hello everyone! Thought I would pop in and say hi in our *very understandably* quiet thread . How is everyone going? Our girls are now 12 weeks old and going very well. I am LOVING having twins - much more than I ever thought I would. I was so frightened at the start because people were pretty much like "Oh twins.. I could never cope with twins. That would be so hard" - it really didn't sound very positive! But we seem to be getting into a pretty good routine and had our first 'sleep through the night' last night! Unfortunately I was awake from 5am convinced they were going to wake up soon! Starting to be able to tell them apart a little bit easier now - noone else really can. DD1 has more hair and a slightly different shaped face. Everyone keeps saying 'It would be great if they had a birth mark on their bum or something' which I totally dont get, as you would have to keep undressing them lol.
Ahh better go - one of the girls is not obeying instructions ("Go to sleep so Mummy can fold washing and watch the dvd that has been sitting on the bench for 3 weeks while your brother is a creche!")
