I'm still worried you about paying all the utilities/bills/food. i think you need legal advice very soon. Too many unknowns.

Agree with deleting him off your FB, i suspect whatever you see on his page, is going to upset you. be kind to yourself, reduce ONE stress in your life.

thanks ladies. My next project is blanket for them. That should keep me busy for another 2-3 weeks.
I'm gonna be alone during Xmas this Year. How sad..... I don't even want to go to shopping center anymore. See all the lovely family go shopping picking the present and stuff together just remind me what I will never have

When should I start get all the essential baby stuff ready?? Is it ok to buy used mattress for baby crib?

The only things I would buy new are cot matress and car seat because you don't know what might have happened to them, if the people smoked, etc. Everything else would be perfectly fine to get second hand.

Can you go to a friends house on christmas day and be with them? I'm sure it would not be too much to ask.
It sucks that you can't be with your family this Christmas. I'm sorry it worked out this way.

Car seat that can use from birth up to 4 yrs probably cost fair bit isn't it??
I'm not sure I can afford to buy two brand new :eek:

My only best friend going to Hyatt hotel with her family and it cost $120 per person lol I will take a rain check on that one

I'm glad You have a place to stay for a while. As someone else mentioned tell centrelink you only have $15, to last until payments, they might refer you to salvos or they might give you advance/food stamps or something.
When you are ready to put together baby stuff I can send you some little baby clothes, mostly boy stuff but there are a few white, yellow or green things too. 0000 and 000 which my DS3 has grown out of already and I'm going to donate them to charity anyway. Just let me know what address.

Hey QL sorry I haven't replied to your email - I have justbretuened from overseas so will do tomorrow. I have a capsule if you need it and once you find out the sex I have more clothes and linen than I know what to do with! I also had to buy two new Moses baskets for our trip to adelaide I am paranoid about how my girls sleep so now i have 4! I'll be happy to help you out with basinetts and sheets etc? I don't believe they should sleep in the same cot as it is now just recently against SIDS guidelines but start looking on gumtree and yo should get a couple of cots for about 150 each - they don't have to match and actually there are some new cots on there for 190 each if you get 2 you can probably negotiate

I am glad you can stay in your house til the babies come. Who knows maybe the father will see them and change his mind if you give him some space between now and then. With twins you'll be amazed at how many gifts you receive - I still have some much boys and girls clothing so don't worry about that too much..

If you help yourself others will always come and help you as well. I hope you have a good dr? What kind of twins are you having? Identical or fraternal? Identicals can sometimes be a bit more complicated - either way I'm here for any support or advice you may need. So many wonderful twin mummies on BB helped me when I was terrified and had so many complications!

Why don't you lay by the basics, new dot mattresses a car seat - I have one spare, by then I may have another two depending on how big mine are. Start buying disposable nappies when you do your grocery shopping or just a packet of wipes, some bath wash etc and stockpile - by the time they come you'll have all you need for a few months

I forgot to say - with twins you get two baby bonuses - one for each baby. We didn't qualify because its means tested but you will qualify and that will help A LOT. Also contact Wanslea now. They send in someone for a couple of hours per day to help. This is also means tested so if you are low income it costs barely nothing

and an extra pair of hands and some company will be invaluable to you. Let us know when you know what kinds of twins you are having - thisnmakes a big difference? I think you said one was natural and the other from a FET so this would make them fraternal and they could be different sexes. It also means your preg will be far less complicated.

As for Xmas day. We don't do much because we go away the next day - but I would be happy to come and visitnyou for an hour and bring some food - totally up to you

no one should be alone at Xmas.

It depends on the car seat, the one we got was $350, but there are cheaper ones. Lots of places will layby too. If you have a Friend you trust maybe you could get one off them to reduce how much you have to spend.

Also, did I read somewhere that you have PHI, you had better check what the situation there is, I'm guessing you aren't still paying the premium and if you and DH are separated then I'm pretty sure you can't have couples or family cover. You don't want to find that you don't have cover in the late stages and have to change hospitals or even worse afterwards and be hit with a bill for thousands.

Also, have you seen a lawyer yet? The sooner you do this the better.

FWIW I know a lot of people buy new cot mattresses but I ended up using the second hand one that came with the cot I bought. I picked up the cot in person and the family I bought it from were non-smokers with a lovely clean home so I figured it would be fine after a good airing and some sunshine. I always have a waterproof mattress protector on it and so did the Mum I bought it off. That's not to say the same thing will work for you but please don't feel like a bad Mum if you make an informed decision and decide on it.
