You can express a little just for comfort and cold cabbage leaves will help with engorgement, just stick em in your bra

Wear a firm bra. The cabbage leaves are good because there the exact right shape for a boob and keep their coolness for a little while. There are tablets you can take to assist with drying up but I wouldn't recommend them. The worst should almost be over after a few days they should go down and you will be much more comfortable. As for expressing a little for comfort you can although I would try not to as any stimulation will stimulate you to produce it again. As for one been huge and the other not is that your DS favourite side? The side you feed of the most will be your most productive milk producer.

Mildez is right about the expressing, sorry M2R I forgot you aren't feeding your DS at all.
Hope it settles down soon, full boobs are a pain!

Actually it is very important to express for comfort in this situation. It is probably too late for you M2R but in case others read this thread later, engorgement puts a mum at a big risk of mastitis. Weaning cold turkey is not ideal, but in any case while weaning, the breasts should be emptied enough so that they are not uncomfortably full and lumpy. Because the breast isn't being drained, the supply will still stop, and this reduces the risk of mastitis.

M2R, I hope you are ok now.
