I think the music is a very important part of a wedding so you have to put some thought into it and find songs that you both like and can agree on.

I walked down the garden "aisle" to "for baby (for Bobby)" by John Denver. My mum is a huge John Denver fan and I always said I'd use one of his songs at our wedding (was the least I could do they were paying for the wedding and the honeymoon). It was also an incredibly romantic song and perfect for an outdoor wedding as ours was.
It's lyrics go:
I'll walk in the rain by your side
I'll cling to the warmth of your hand
I'll do anything to help you understand
I'll love you more than anybody can.
And the wind will whisper your name to me
little birds will sing along in time
leaves will bow down when you walk by
and morning bells will chime
I'll be there when you're feeling down
to kiss away the tears that you cry
I'll share with you all the happiness I've found
a reflection of the love in your eyes....... etc etc.

Song while signing the register was "Everything I do" by Bryan Adams.... you know the one.... "Look into my eyes and you will see what you mean to me". It had just been in a movie at the time and everyone was using it in their weddings. Also very romantic.

First dance was to "What a Wonderful World" by Louis Armstrong. This was a last minute decision as it was a lunch time wedding and we were not planning on dancing but the MC convinced us we would regret it if we didn't do it.

Also a couple of Shania Twain's songs are great for weddings. "From this moment" would be ideal for any wedding. "You're still the one" is ideal for people who have had a rocky relationship before getting down the aisle or who perhaps have had a relationship that others thought wouldn't survive because of it's reference to "they said I bet they'll never make it".

It's a day you will look back on forever so it needs to be romantic. When I got married all those years ago none of the songs we used were favorites of ours as our music tastes differed but we realised the value of romantic songs at a wedding and chose accordingly. We chose carefully and never regretted the song choices.

Good luck.
