We had hamish baptised last month and recieved some lovely gifts. Photo frames, photo albums, beautiful teddy bear with his name on the front and on the back was the date and my christening day (expensive), money box (engraved), books, toys etc. I think the most practical is a book and if you just write a short message and sign inside front cover it is more personal. We recieved like 4 silver money boxes and 3 photo albums and we will probably never use them all. I hope this helps.

I have only bought for girls, and I always give them a little silver baby bracelet with their name engraved on it. You could also buy a nice cushion and have bubs name embroided on it?

I just had my friends daughters christening and I got her 4 beautiful outfits from Target and put them in 4 gorgeous gift boxes I bought from the $2.00+ store, wrapped in tissue paper & stacked on top of each other tied together with a big silk ribbon. I did the same for her son, except I bought 4 boys outfits My friend told me she didn't want any picture frames, or anything made of silver that she had to polish,

I'm a bit traditional. I believe that the gifts given at a baptism should have religion basis to them. You can get gorgeous books, prayer cards and short stories from the bible. Best of luck picking your pressie and enjoy your day.
