Gotta agree with sarah and briggsy's girl. You could arrange to meet your mum after, or maybe even invite her (If your SIL doesn't mind), or arrang to do something the day before for your mum. She did ask if you were free and you said yes.

personally I don't think it matters if you celebrate mother's day on the actual day or on another - isn't it the thought that is important.
