OMG i got as far as the first paragragh and i already and tears & snot
... and i can't tell you how wrapt i was to hear Patrick got a mention
if i can could i say one tiny itty bitty little thing (just don't read any further here if you don't want to hear it) ... this is a little of my own experience when i gave a long speech at my 40th birthday when i was 25weeks pregnant with DD ... just as you did i was honest and quite brave to say i guess to most people but it came easy to me as i like you am not one to hide things and that's something i have learned in life we don't fully open ourselves up and just say things as they are ... far too many people i think see it as a weakness when you speak with a strong depth of emotion BUT i have been a huge crusader to change that around ... and those at my 40th birthday party knew that's how i am so it wasn't a huge surprise, infact after my speech (just as it will for YOU) you will have people look at her with admiration as they will see it as being quite courgeous ....put it this way my FIL whom clearly doesn't like me for i have until this day NO idea why ... he after my party drove his wife (my lovely MIL) and her Mum home and word got back to me that he said in their long drive home " You know what after tonight i have a lot of respect for Lorelle " ...(what a shock was that for me to hear about later)
Now getting to my point when i was about 3/4 through my speech i noticed how the atmosphere slowly became quite sad is the only way i can put ... so many sad looking faces listening to my life journey until turning 40 which many didn't know the whole story and i thought OMG this is mean't to be a night for everyone to get on and have a great time ... so after my spilling all these wonderful things and very heartbreaking things in my speech (and also mentioning all those that were there for me every step of the way) it was clearly time to save all these sad faces & tears and i broke out into some slight humor right at the END of my speech, nothing over the top as i didn't want my speech to be quickly forgotten to which everyone had a giggle and all the SMILES were back on everyone's faces.
So hope i have got my little message across ... i guess what i want to say is your speech is just heartwarming & incredibly beautiful ... don't hold back on a thing you want to say with everyone present as this special event your Wedding it may then likely be your only chance in life to say it ALL for ALL to hear ... and my only little tad of you know what i'm going to say lol is maybe put even just the smallest bit of anything at the end of your speech to get every back in the mood with smiles to move on and celebrate the special day.
Oh boy i hope that alright came out right and not offensive in the slightest way or i think i will cry then go kick myself in the butt
Hope that was OK for me to say !!
(P.S - my best friend of 20years has a DD named Chloe she turned 9 on Fri, a real cutie she is)
