We decided to opt for a more "modern" bridal waltz and we used a Jack Johnson song called "Better Together". Here is the first few lines of the song (so sweet!)

There's no combination of words
I could put on the back of a postcard
No song that I could sing
But I can try for your heart,
our dreams, and they are made out of real things
like a shoebox of photographs
with sepia-toned loving

Really mellow, peaceful and lovely song - I cried the whole way through!!

Other songs used on the night were:

Entrance Song: I'm a Believer by Smashmouth
Cake Cutting: Icecream by Sarah McLachlan
Father/Daughter: My Girl by The Temptations
Final/Farewell Dance: Good Riddance (Time of Your Life) by Greenday

During the open dancing part of the night we had a mixture of oldies and newies so I think all bases were covered. I wouldn't worry too much about what other people will think (ie. The Oldies with the Adam Sandler song - which I really wanted!!) - in the end it will be your moment and your memory and you should represent it with a song that you both love!

Another suggestion is "Iris" by The Goo Goo Dolls
