1) I am not too much help as to where you would buy a dress, but I would suggest a maternity dress as it compliments your bump alot more than a large size dress taken in. I wasn't very big at all at 7 months pregnant and still sleeping on my tummy, everyone is so different so it is so hard to tell about sizing,
2) Yeah ok it is a Thursday and late notice for some, however if it offers any hope, I received an invite last week to a wedding in Perth (I'm in Melbourne) and the wedding is November 29th, I have a 3 month old daughter that was in hospital until 4 weeks ago, and yes I am going to the wedding! If they are true family and friends they will be there no matter what.
3) An outside wedding is always nice, but then you can never predict the weather - is it a chance you want to take? Maybe you could hire/buy (you could re-sell on ebay) a small gazebo (you can get them cheap at Big W and they are nice iron with cream canvas), this could at least be a cover for the bridel party if it rains a bit (everyone else can use an umbrella, he he)
4) Yeah why not - it is your day, not hers - don't let anyone ruin it for you!
I got married at 4 months pg with DD2 and my mum made me a really lovely dress, I wasn't showing much though. She made a failry plain under dress then a really soft floaty overdress (I am bad at explaining but it looked lovely)
My bro is a wedding photographer and he is seeing more and more mid week weddings,I think with that much notice people can organise something, and if they don't bother you have weeded out those who aren't that interested!
I would have alternate arrangements to just an outside venue in case the weather is bad.
thanks for the replys!
the place we're going has indoors and out doors. they only do one wedding aday which is nice! and with that DF can make a call 10 mins before we start as to where we'll have it!
as for the dress, i'll have a look around, most of the chain bridel shops dont have mat. dresses which is annoying but we'll wait and see.
i can understand that some people may not be able to attend. i know some of my family who live in south gippsland and work on farms may not be able to. i also know DF's family from near ballarat may not be able to as well. but i do think if people want to come they will. (long weekend any one?) if they dont then so be it. i know that friends of ours got invited to a wedding a month or 3 weeks before DF's brothers wedding (they made it
bl00dy easy to see who was 'b' listed!) and people made it!
dachlostar- tuna ay? would i even be able to lift such a hevy fish? or maybe go to the place before hand and rig up a fish slapper that she can walk into and i can be all " i dont know how that got there...."
lulu- i told DF if his SIL in came i'd need a second or maybe even thrid bouquet, becuase i'd need one for his mother and one for his SIL. as for the rocks i dont want to add to what seems to be rocks in their heads. besides...i dont want blood on my dress!!
joeve- BWAHAHAHA that is so true. besides she's just assumeing. people dont always do what we think! plus she's the one whoes all "blahblahblah children AFTER getting hiched!" (thus im 21 weeks and the only two people who know besides DFs mum and dad are his brother & his wife and a 2nd cosen we told!)
