I'd be checking with people over how likely they are to come to you before you decide anything definite. If there are very few people willing to travel to you then it may just well be decision made.

Otherwise - you need to decide what's more important to you. To be able to see everyone for the occasion, or to have the occasion in your own surroundings? To have friends there, or family?

Or perhaps a compromise, Sydney for Nate's christening and home for DH's party, but that does mean two separate weekends, I guess.

I'd ask around but I think I'd have it at home. Hopefully most of your family will travel to you.

In your beautiful home. The people who really want to be there will make it - they might make a weekend out of it. Maybe make it a bit of a farewell do also, andmake a point of it being their last chance before you move.

I hope you have a fabulous bash.

Thanks girls, I have asked our parents, and have decided to have it here. You're right those who want to will be here. We do it for them regularly.
